  1. or should i suck it up and just get the K&N induction kit they got for around £250? I'm not looking at speed, just some nice v6 sound :D
  2. I just want a bit more noise, the V6 is a very nice sound but its too subdued. Exhaust is out of the question as the wife has given me the death stare and i dont want to wake the neighbours up early in the morning. I might mod the box like the F sport and stick a K&N filter in there. But I also need a Joez pipe. So is a Joez pipe easy to get? I think the IS250 in US is the same as in the UK. IS350 i dont know.
  3. Hi guys, I'm sure this has been brought up before but I cant find much info for the UK side. I'm after the F sport induction kit, does anyone know where I can get this? Also, has anyone fitted wind deflectors on? I like the OEM one but i recall they are very expensive for that they are. I dont like the HEKO ones.
  4. Welcome! Have a look at the wiki page for the IS250, there are some changes but its not massive. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lexus_IS#2008.E2.80.932010 Regards to buying from a dealer vs private, you can still get good or bad ones from both, with dealer you get a little bit more reassurance because its a company and you can complain etc. I've recently bought from a trader (only because they had the right model and color) but i would have went private to save some money. If someone goes wrong, I'll just hope it doesnt cost much to fix. So its a preference and risk you need to decide on.
  5. I wondered what that white pad thingy is (in your first picture, the right clear pad thing). I have that on both my rear doors, it doesnt bother me that much as i've managed to cleaned the side so it doesnt stand out. I think i'll wait a few more months and if i'm bored i might remove it, thanks for the guide!
  6. It was great meeting everyone, nice to see you again Stu and thanks for the ride in your ISF, it was mental! I'll put up some snaps i took later tonight.
  7. I was going to use a microfiber cloth and my breathe. :winky:
  8. Good time to brush up my photography skills, maybe get a group photo. I lost my nice lense (dont ask) but hope stock one will do the cars justice.
  9. Nope, sold the FTO years ago, bought the EP3 straight after and had it for 5+ years, now rocking a IS250 F sport (wife is preggers lol). Times have changed :P Sold my gixxer a while ago too lol
  10. Yes yes Stu, I see you're well and still actively partaking in club events :) I'm not going to vote as I can attend all the above dates (so far unless the wife decides otherwise).
  11. Then the club logo will be back to front lol (Oh you mean the front windows, looks better on the back window)
  12. Front engine, rear wheel drive are the worst in snow in terms of traction but most fun. the IS200 is front engine, rear wheel drive, my is250 has a snow button, i think it just pulls using a higher gear than normal to avoid slipping. Regards to your car choices, if your current car suits you well then there is no need for a change. You seems to prefer performance over luxury, if so I would recommend the honda civic type r or similar kind of car. Way more fun than an accord (my dad has one and keeps using my car when I had it)
  13. Hi guys, I got my club stickers as part of the gold membership but I was wondering do we have the stickers to go on the outside window? I think these go on the inside, reason why i'm asking is because I'll be tinting the rears soon and i think the club stickers will be hard to see. :D
  14. As people have mentioned, alot of the issues are related to the diesel model of these cars. Here is a PDF from Toyota that gives you an overview of the trim level differences: https://www.google.co.uk/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=8&ved=0CEgQFjAHahUKEwi02pXZ0rnHAhWRWNsKHVG9CcM&url=http%3A%2F%2Fmedia.toyota.co.uk%2Fwp-content%2Ffiles_mf%2F1331281195120216MILEXUSIS250EQUIPMENTLIST.pdf&ei=WNLWVbTOOJGx7QbR-qaYDA&usg=AFQjCNG1NPCtuDeCZjhfwwBTHxyMw2vX8Q&sig2=Mv_DVJ90SzMCqU7yKTvIpA&cad=rja I would use it as a guide because i found in my 2010 F sport, it came with memory steering wheel which wasnt listed, great for me but it may have things removed also.
  15. I would have this checked out at a garage, the simplest thing you could do it change the transmission fluid and see if this fixes it? I had a manual (from another manufacturer) and the 1st/2nd gear changes were clunky, i had the transmission oil changed and it fixed that issue for me. I'm not saying this will fix yours because yours is an auto so could be other factors.
  16. I'm a convert from Honda (Civic Type R) to Lexus! Apart from the IS-F, you wouldn't buy these for speed alone, its the luxury, all round performance with reliability is why you want to own one. Do not buy the Mazda RX8, there is a reason why they are dirt cheap now, just do a quick google on it.
  17. Took me about 10mins to do each puddle light, think mine was parked near the sea as all these white stuff was stuck on the metal. Looks so much better now with white LED. The side lights are a right pain to do but should be easier the 2nd time round if i ever need to replace them.
  18. Does anyone know if this comes with auto dimming side mirrors? The mirrors i have currently have a gold tint to it and around the edges, it looks like normal color glass, not sure if previous owner just replaced the glass?
  19. Hi all, so I sold my civic type r recently and just picked up and nice white IS250 F sport with multimedia pack (sat nav and ML audio) So far the experience has been excellent, only wanted one with ML audio and the sound quality is top notch My first mod will be to replace some lights with LED.
  20. Welcome Tony, I too am collecting my Lexus tomorrow. Friendly bunch these guys are!
  21. I drove the F sport last week and its actually quite comfortable, its a bit softer than my EP3 but thats a good thing. The drive itself is very well refined and completely different to my current car but I like it, so I've put a deposit down and waiting to collect the car hopefully this weekend.
  22. This is slightly off topic but Stu, is that you? From FTO :) Wax alone will only make your car bead and gives it some protection, you should spend the time polishing the car as thats what make the car gleam! I could go on forever on this topic but if your new to detailing then try AutoGlym Super Resin Polish, its cheap to get and gives good results. After that you might get the detailing bug and start building up your arsenal.
  23. Hi guys, Just want some opinions on the 2 models, i know the f sport has a firmer ride but is this bone crunching firm? I currently drive a 2004 civic type r EP3 and the ride is firm but not uncomfortable. I fear the SE-L might be too soft (though comfy) hence why I'm looking at the F sport but if the ride difference is night and day then I'll need to rethink my decision. Appreciate your replies!
  24. Thanks Phil. No worries, I'm just trying to get my car ready to sell so I can purchase a IS250 (within the month or 2).
