  1. What type of auto does the is250 have? Its the best auto I've ever driven
  2. Not for £70! They will look good but not £70 good, i would skip unless its £20. Use the money for a nice kebab or something that has more impact such as an induction kit, exhaust, petrol, decals etc
  3. Those 2 toys must've been fun! Clean too :)
  4. My understanding is, if you remove the cat then your emissions would be too high so would fail on MOT, this is the same as bashing the cat internals in too? Meaning you'll need to put in your OEM one to pass. Sport cats are designed to be more free flowing but lets you pass MOT too. Best speak to an exhaust expert, I'm guessing it sound you want since performance mods doesnt make much difference on these cars.
  5. They might call you few days later to ask how your experience was etc, i think that a good time to repeat your experience to them.
  6. looks clean, whats the reliability like on those?
  7. On the IS250, if you had a sunroof and you hit a pothole, it can damage the roof and you'll get this unsightly bulge/dent in the corner of the sunroof. I dont have a sunroof on mine, would be nice to have one only because I've never owned a car with it. The Panoramic glass roof on the new lexus looks gorgeous!
  8. Its better (not always easier of course) to sell your current car and use cash to buy the next one. If you are part-ex the car with the dealer, they will make a cut on the trade-in and vehicle they are selling. So this means win-win for them and for less money, you get less hassle. If you are patient then try bargaining and leave your details but walk away on the first visit, it depends how desperate they need to shift their cars.
  9. That is poor service, you would've thought they'd check all the parts/booking before confirming or at least tell you things cant happen because x, y, z. I had an excellent service from Sidcup but guess each place is different and you can get different experience from the same site.
  10. Baby car seat arrived, went to test fit it in the evening, gave up as the space was tight and dark. Will have another crack at it on the weekend when its bright.
  11. Hi guys, First off, please move this topic if its in the wrong section. I've never been to a dealer for servicing before as all my previous cars go to specialists. I thought I'd take it to dealer this time round as I wanted the visual check docs to ensure the car is in good health. Turns out it is with a few minor issues such as low rear brake pads and 'seized caliper' which I'll fixed/replace later. The overall experience was excellent, got a courtesy car for free that morning, went shopping with the wife for a few hours, they chucked in the pollen filter for free also. Yes it will cost less elsewhere (I got 10% discount for being a gold member) but these days I cant be bothered to crawl under a car, I would rather sit in front of the telly with my feet up but any small stuff like brakes I will do myself. So thought I share my experience with you, the pregnant wife says the toilets were really clean :)
  12. I read up this is common as its a heavier car and being an auto, the brake disks wear alot faster. Mine seems to have a dip so will replace them next year.
  13. Glad to hear since i have rear window tints on and would be a nightmare if i had to repair it. I'll double check when i get home!
  14. I think in the is250 manual it does mention using N for long periods of stop but dont quote me on that! I use N when i know its a longer wait than usual, short waits at the lights i keep my foot on the brakes. I'd avoid P at the lights for 2 reasons, i hate it when i see the reverse light if i'm behind and more importantly, P uses a pin on the gearbox to stop the car rolling, if you get hit from the rear, it can be bad and cause all sorts of problem. No issues if it was in N or D. So N at the lights if wait is long otherwise foot on brakes.
  15. So there is 1 thing i would like changed on my IS250 and that is the ability to auto roll down all my windows using the unlock button. I called Lexus about it as I was also getting a quote for a service and they said "just bring it in and we'll do it no charge". Called the next day to book an appointment and got a different person on the phone, now she says its £85 charge, I said i only want to add this function not re-program the whole key. Says its £85! Is there a way I can do this myself?
  16. Hi guys, Not sure if this is normal or a problem yet but I've noticed when i use my rear demister, the very top part of the window doesnt demist. The rest of the rear screen does. At the very top of the rear windscreen there is approx 3 lines, its those that doesnt demist. Any ideas?
  17. My IS rain sensor works well, make sure windscreen is nice and clean along with the rear view mirror. I thought you can stop the sensor with the stalk by setting it to off then pull down to whatever setting you want when it rains. Theres no need to disconnect the auto-sensor?
  18. sounds advice above. I think the moment you sign the paperwork on a brand new car, you'll lose something like 10% (dont quote me on the actual figures) before you even drive it out of the showroom. Buy used, buy it outright with cash........unless your a loaded then thats a difference story :)
  19. Apologies for the late photos! http://www.lexusownersclub.co.uk/forum/topic/103474-lexus-bluewater-meet-6915/
  20. Hi guys, Apologies for the late photos, theres not enough time in the weekday and weekend flies by too quick. Here are the snaps I took at the meet, was great meeting you all!
  21. Problem is, i like it quiet in the cabin and on the weekends i like it loud lol. I had exhausts before on other cars and its pretty much loud and droney, want something meaty but not loud to wake neighbours up. So thinking an induction kit is prob best since i can easily remove it if i dont like it and its only louder when it at high rev. Regards to F sport vs K&N, K&N is far easier to obtain, the oil lube doesnt bother me as I've had it on a few cars, you just need to lightly oil it. For F sport, you can almost mimic it by cutting the hole but then the 'force cold air' tube is pointless as the air will be sucked from the hole mainly.
