  1. I agree with toffee. I have OEM HID and they are fine, beam is perfect, lights are bright enough to not complain however i do like the HIDs on those mercedes and prius, so bright and whiter than mine. Perhaps we need to look into different HID bulbs?
  2. For those looking to order, its £74.58 with club discount. None in stock but ordered mine today and coming from Germany in approx next 2 weeks.
  3. PWR ECT i believe as most have said just improves throttle response and is more eager when you step on it, it doesn't given you anymore 'power/bhp'. I leave mine in normal for most part because its smoother to drive, in PWR ECT, i find when i'm in traffic and i need to creep forward or go a few meters then stop, its a bit too eager. Certainly theres no harm in leaving it in PWR ECT and i would assume it'll use a bit more fuel because it pulls away a bit faster at standstill.
  4. Seems the k&n is the best option since the f sport is alot harder to obtain. I would love to have the growl at low rpm but with a custom exhaust, you can't tell how loud/droney it will be. The best test I think would be to start the car up 6am and it shouldn't wake the neighbours or feel like your waking them lol Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk
  5. Was the car sitting in a garage or sitting on the street for the pro-longed time? As long as it has full service history and you've test driven it, you'll be in a better place to decide, not all 'full serviced' cars means its a good one though, it could've had a hard life. Check the mot history from the government website, might give you a better feel of it.
  6. Most of the nice bits are from USA, i think you are better off getting a custom exhaust pipe made for the car. I'm in 2 minds to get an induction kit or an exhaust, i dont like loud droning sounds.
  7. That mean your aircon is constantly on? You'll definitely get colder air even with heaters on. Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk
  8. Are you using 'AUTO' on your climate control? I have an AUTO on the left and another AUTO on the right (for diverting air flow from outside or recirculate) and both are off, I noticed that when its on, it turns the aircon on too so you will get 'cooler' air even with the heaters on. I dont need the aircon on except for summer and clearing my front windscreen. Don't actually see the point of the auto functions so I never use it.
  9. I think this is expected? As in you set the temp you want, the car will put out hot air until the temp is reached then it blows cooler air or not hot air to regulate the temp. I have mine set to 21, after a little while i notice the air blown is not as hot as the first time, you can up it by another degree and it will go hot then blows warm/cool air. On older cars with manual heat controls, it stays hot forever if you left it on max heat. I like how the heaters regulate itself so i can just set it to whatever temp i want and it will ensure it stays at that temp.
  10. The Lexus IS250 is an awesome car, its very comfortable, everything works, its quiet inside and i always get compliments from friends who sit in it. The only negative for me is, the rear seats could have a bit more leg room though once you sit inside, the room is adequate (5'10). The V6 is smooth and drives effortlessly, i would class this as a luxury car than a performance car despite the 2.5 litre V6 engine, its not slow either.
  11. It's defo not those system with integrated bluray players lol. However I was looking at the yamaha rxv379 along with the monitor audio mass 5.1, should be a good system but no atmos and the sub won't fit in the front. Another speaker alternative was the tannoy hts101xp, better but no atmos. The only downfall on the onkyo is the sub is only 80w rms and the other 2 mentioned is 200 rms. I'm going to wait and see if the big brother onkyo ht-s7705 will come back in stock at Amazon for the same price. Frustrating it is with home cinema systems. Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk
  12. So I no longer want a wireless system so the bose and sony are now off my list. Will be doing a wired version and so far I have my eyes on the Onkyo HT-S5805 Atmos(S7705 on amazon is out of stock for the same price). The subwoofer is only 80W RMS, the other systems i looked are were 150-220W RMS. My living room is approx 4m x 4.5m, is 80W subwoofer enough to rumbling my living room like a cinema? The 5 speakers are running 100W from the AV.
  13. You can defo polish plastic, most bumpers are plastic[emoji14] Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk
  14. I use castrol red grease in my previous cars when lubing the pins, i'll be using those again when i change my pads and will give it a good clean/lube.
  15. Best bet is to check ebay or call the dealers. I use halford 'spin cap' ones (for security).
  16. Dry yes unless you have a massive garage, warm is not always the case but it does help. Make sure you buy a large microfibre drying towel, this is what you'll use to dry the car. Don't use those leather chamois, you'll just be dragging dirt and scratching your beautiful paintwork, also dont use those £5 car wash, the wash mitten has been used on many cars and they don't rinse it.
  17. You can use with an electric polisher but since it has tiny abrasives, you just need to becareful. TBH i don't think you can go wrong unless your holding the DA down for a good 30sec on maximum settings. On a rotary, its alot more harsher!
  18. Also have a look at http://www.detailingworld.co.uk/ There a massive wealth of information there!
  19. This is one of those topics where there so much depth in detailing, i wouldn't want to overload you....yet :) Depending on your body work condition, after the car is washed and dried, cover your hand in a tesco plastic bag, now run your hand on a panel (bonnet is easiest), it should not make any sound at all, if it does (like a 'shhhhhhhhh' sound) then you should polish/wax the car. Another way to check is under a street lamp at night, if you look at your body work, there should not be any hazes/scratches/swirls. Now on to the actual process, the proper way is the follow: 1. Snow foam (you can skip this) 2.Wash 3.Clay then rinse (you can skip this) 4.Polish 5.Wax Once the car is washed and dried, you can hand polish the car with Autogylm Super Resin Polish (suggested this because its easy to use and available to buy everywhere), you'll need a small microfiber pad type to hand polish it. Once its all done and dried, you need a separate towel wipe the dried polish off. The final step is to use a wax or sealant, this should give you a few months protection (nice water beads when it rains and don't need to put wax/sealant until you need it). Thats it for most but you can do other stuff like clean/polish the glass, tyre dressing etc This is where i mostly get my detailing gear: http://www.cleanyourcar.co.uk Happy cleaning!
  20. they do look nice, the hybrid is very tempting but needs more power. Steering wheel feels great, the IS250 is a bit thin.
  21. Yes it does, all is250 f sport have alcantara seats which is half leather half cloth type. It's the nice suede cloth. The SE-L come in all leather and others in cloths. Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk
  22. Then its for cosmetic :D Just like how bigger wheels, its for cosmetic
  23. Practical value is subjective Mine is a F sport, i got this version because i usually go for sports cars however the wife was pregnant so a less sportier car was needed. I wanted something luxury and comfortable as I don't do silly speeds or drive like an idiot on the road so the IS250 F sport was bought. Yes its a saloon but it is a sportier version, lowered by an inch all round, 18" wheels, F sport suspension (it doesn't feel that firm, my last car was a civic type r 2004 and that was firmer) and slight differences in appearance compared to the SE-L. The main thing to look out for is the trims, SE-L or F sport and also if it has sat nav and the Mark Levinson as alot of IS250 seem to go for similar money so you might as well go for the sat nav with ML (i have this).
  24. Brand I'm not worried about, I want quality. If the rear speakers are cabled then that's a no go for me. Our living room is the main place for entertainment. Need to weigh up my options but don't want to regret getting the wrong one. Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk
  25. Thanks for the replies guys. Ideally a 5.1 I would like however rear speakers with wires are a no no! I've got tv stand that my 50" panny sits on, might have room for the amp but i dont think i have room for floor speakers. Pics to follow. I'm after clarity and want the feeling like I'm in the cinema. I know bose can make normal audio sound much more engaging with their sound processors, I just don't want a system that is just loud and boomy. I'll have a look at richer sounds for some ideas but also open to suggestions and will check out the equipment you mentioned Steve! Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk
