  1. I have used them, removes all the crap from the paint in preparation for polish and wax, that's about the extent of my knowledge on them. I am sure someone will be along shortly with a much better and detailed explanation.
  2. Seems like a very good deal, hope it is as good as it looks.
  3. A good call I think going for the 250 petrol, I have had both the 220d and 250 petrol, the 220d was not particularly economical and the ridiculously high 6th gear was a pain. I had a Mark Levinson in the 220d but not in the 250 but the system was still good to my ears! I am on my 4th Lexus and cannot fault the cars or the backup from the dealers. Good luck with finding what you are after.
  4. Oh I bloody hate this, they came into my house a few years back only it was 8.00pm and we were watching TV, they managed to get the keys to two cars but didn't manage to take the cars due to my rather feisty German Shepherd. I really feel for you mate, I wouldn't want the car back either.
  5. Depending on location I could be up for a meet, although Donington is probably as far as Bluewater would be for me!!!
  6. Hope you stay with the Lexus brand Nick, I am very interested to hear what the GS-F is like. Wrocki welcome to the club, looks like your IS-F will be joining some interesting cars.
  7. Wow £155 all in for the front brakes, that is good to know, as everyone has said really I think the running costs are reasonable for this type of car, I cant get above 30 mpg on a run though, probably my driving style.............. OP you will certainly not regret buying one and if you do the chances of coming across another one are extremely rare.
  8. I run a 13 year old Golf 1.4 as a daily, for me it is so much cheaper to run the 2 cars than it would be to use the IS-F every day, and then when I do get In it after a few days it feels special.
  9. Hi Tony, I will take a look at the same camera you have when I get the car back. I did not look at the recovery option, there was a lot of glass stuck to the paintwork on the outside of the car, the only safe option of removing it without scratching would be to rinse the car, however without a window I did not want to risk it, I cant believe the amount of trouble a broken window has caused!!
  10. It was a NextBase I think, bought from Halfords, mounted in the middle of the screen just under the rear view mirror really good for the money, stupid to leave it in the car, I realise that now, but the absolute grief it causes for what, £10 is probably what he sold it for, my car is still in Bolton, I am back home in Wiltshire, I will have to go and collect it on Wednesday, another day off work and 400 mile round trip, really ****** off.
  11. Top man, you will love it, and what a drive back...........eco mode...Pahh!!
  12. This is what I found at 07.30 this morning as I leave my hotel in Bolton to come home, some 200 miles. My own fault, I left my dash cam on the windscreen, however it does not give anyone the fuc@ing right to put my window through and simply take it. Yes the hotel had CCTV but I have no faith in reporting it and the Police apprehending anyone, so I take it 1 mile to the local Lexus dealer and ask them if it is OK to park it there while I contact my insurance company to arrange the repair. At 09.00 I was told the glass replacement company would be with me before 12.00 and they would telephone 30 mins before arrival, at 11.40 no one has contacted me, I have had 7 cups of Lexus complimentary coffee and am a little concerned, I call the company and am told they cant obtain the glass until Tuesday afternoon!!!!!! To say i was ****** off at this point is an understatement. I don't want to tape up the door with plastic as I have too far to travel and the weather is not great, this is where the Lexus dealer, who are doing me a favour letting me wait to have a repair carried out on their premises offer to look after the car until Tuesday and give me a new NX300 to come home and return on Wednesday when my car is repaired, talk about customer service.......... Rant over, and breathe............
  13. Got to say I think the GS-F looks great, I still like the RC-F, I would take either of them...............
  14. Hello, This is my 4th Lexus, although my first IS-F, nothing has gone wrong with any of them, absolutely nothing. I struggle to see 30 mpg on a motorway, maybe it is my driving style, but that is not what the car is about for me. servicing can be expensive, I have mine on a service package, speak to your local dealer, and as others have said discs and pads are eye wateringly expensive from Lexus. The car is superb though, you will not be disappointed.
  15. Received mine yesterday, wonder how many cars are affected.
  16. Is it worth speaking to the local Lexus dealer to see who they use, I did that with my last car, worked out very well.
  17. Aged 55 (in my head I am still 18) Asbestos Consultant
  18. 2011 just on 31000, used mainly at weekends so should stay as a low mileage car.
  19. I try to keep mine for weekend use, I have an old Golf that I use during the week, keeps the miles down in the F and always feels special when you start it up!!
