  1. Thanks for that now at least I know my crankiness is an accident of birth!:D
  2. I thought it was just me. Mine bleeps at me when I'm about 1 mile from my office in Witney on two of the approach roads. It does not do it anywhere else but as regular as clockwork at the same two points on the road I get this series of bleeps and nothing else. Someone please put us out of our misery what do they mean. :?::?::?:
  3. Anyway - I don't think we should discuss political issues on here - not the place and issues like this tend to get heated. I wholeheartedly agree with this and apologise for starting the thread. Just for the record I do not hunt and do not allow the hunt on my land. I used to do a lot of shooting but said I would never shoot unless I knew all the birds shot were going to be eaten. I haven't shot now for 6 years because I felt the sport was being taken out of it in favour of big bags. I do however manage my land with wildlife in mind and understand the value of game management.
  4. You keep posting these things and it's so frustrating. All our internet usage is monitored - I even log onto this site from home most of the time and I am the IT partner!
  5. I'm glad someone else gets this. It happens on mine whenever I am about 1/2 mile from my office in Witney. doesn't matter if I'm using the sat nav or not so long as I've got the display on. I've no idea what it is but at the same place on two roads approaching the office there I get these little bleeps and then nothing. I've just got used to it but it would be nice to know what it is.:?:
  6. I too went on the rally and 1st March March and they were good. If it was just about hunting I would not be there even though I have sheep and have seen what foxes can do at lambing time. There are plenty of other ways of controlling foxes (all just as unpleasant for the fox if not worse) but done quietly out of the public eye. Probably it is anti government though I prefer to think pro freedom of choice. Anyway I went; it was worth the 3 hour queue just to start just to be with so many good humoured well behaved people.
  7. Like the wife says they're not going to miss one person but as I say I will know! Will it make a difference I don't know but not doing anything certainly won't. I'm going - decision made.
  8. I'm probably opening a can of worms but am sitting here thinking I should be going to march but there are things on in my village today that need support too. I'm not pro hunting but I'd never stop those who want to do it. It's about the liberty to do what you want to do, when you want to without interferring with other people. Take Germany as an example they are not even allowed to have fishing competitions any more! What a quandry 'to march or not to march' got about an hour left to decide.:?:
  9. Yep! got four of us if you've got the places - cheque's ready and waiting.
  10. I appreciate the problem over part (B) but (a) would be a start!
  11. Looks like I'll have 4 for you on this. Please email payments details and I'll know for definite tomorrow.:tumble:
  12. You misunderstand. It's not editing your own posts I'm on about. Take one of the longer threads such as the track day. It would help a) if the original post that started it all was at the beginning of every page and B) if the original author of that started the thread updated it as proposed dates, themes etc change.
  13. I know part of the beauty of these forums is the slight meandering that can occur but on some of the longer threads it's difficult to work out where they started. Can it be fixed so the original post is at the top of every page and the original author can edit that if any salient facts change. Be really good for meets etc when dates times etc can change.
  14. Maybe cause I'm in the older catagory of you owners but your premiums make me go even greyer. My total car premiums for LS400, Saab 93 Cabrio and Landrover are less than your numbers just for an IS! Also I have not shopped around just with NFU. I know I could get it cheaper but their claims service is so good it's worth paying a bit extra. Having said that I've only had 2 claims in over 10 years with them - one for my house and one when my wife was hit up the back end - maybe I should shopp arround1
  15. Maybe you need to buy your wife a new car or is it a supercharger for the Fiesta! :D I'm preparing for the big sell on the supercharger, so next Friday her 1.0 Corsa get's replaced by a Yaris Tsport. We run that in for a couple of month's and then make the 'saftey' improvements on the IS200. Then I'll be enjoying the finer things in life! I like your style .... must remember that one!! :D I hope this won't get me thrown out of the club but I offered to buy my wife an IS200 when I changed her car last. She said no! She likes them but it 'was just another saloon car'!
  16. I really hope my daughter does not look at this thread. I've already got a wife who wants to change her car for an SC430 but she does understand these things take time - about 50 years they way my piggy banks going!
  17. Not deaf just not an F1 fan and have been round BAR before.
  18. I presume it has not got the dynamic handling pack - initially have a look at one that has but bear in mind that the LS400 is designed as a luxury saloon and yes the DHP does improve handling but does also detract from the ride quality. It's a car where you really need to decide what it's for.
  19. I'd go with Rodders and use acetone but I like the hairdrier idea.
  20. Thanks from one who's email system bounced it back!
  21. Another comparison from another old man. My LS 400 averages 25.6
  22. I asked for my LS. In order yes and £6K! I've stuck with the cd version!
  23. Does your car have the light sensor on the dashboard lights. If so it could be this misbehaving. Do you have the 2 stage reostat i.e. a click when turning fully clockwise which switches the light sensors off.
  24. You may do 1000 miles a week but I'm only on about 500 and would prefer the more leisurely approach. When would we have the tasting time? And I'm into thje food and drink on the one night stop. Agreed it would be feasible and cheaper but ...... Come on folks it can't be that hard let's get the numbers up a bit. If it's kids bring them with you the French are very child friendly and all hotels do family rooms for virtually nothing over the standard room.
  25. I could seriously get upset by somethings. My sat nav has always been great, always spot on no problems. Then I read your query. No problem for a couple of days and then mine starts wandering off a bit and no quite being with the road. I reset it a couple of times but no avail. Reset it the other evening and now everything is OK again. I know when sat nav was first about there was a problem with accuracy cause the US being paranoid had made it so just in case the enemy used it against them. That was of course some years ago but what with 9-11 and Iraq what do we know!
