  1. Another ancient one. 46 next week. Maybe that's why I drive an LS.
  2. Good choice joining the club. Seconded getting your dad to join - he's probably younger than me too!
  3. Other peoples driving does not worry me and I like to drive in London. It's one of the few places where drivers seem to be decisive and most of them do seem to know the size of their cars. It's usually those who are timid that cause the hasstle - I suppose cause there a re just so many cars there you see more bad driving. I always found inLondon a degree more respect than in other areas. Years ago I used to drive an RR Shadow 11 around the city and it was as if there was a 3 foot barrier around it - everyone just gave it a little extra room.
  4. No problem at home - registered with the telephone preference service and within 3 weeks silence. the office is a different story but mostly IT companies or tele[hony co's. I have fun with the IT ones cause they normally phone me as the IT partner in my accountancy practice but I'm also the MD of an IT security / network co. as well. It means they're usually either trying to sell exactly what we do or sell me equipment at really low prices - until I explain we're a VAR too! I don't really mind as they do have a job to do and my secretary's pretty good at stopping the orst ones. The 2 scams that bug me are the 'thank you for helping us out with the XXXX survey as a thank you we are sending you (most recently a set of Talisker Whisky) and here is your security code in case it does not arrive and while we are on ........ Of course it never arrives! The other is an unsolicited fax firm that says we are confirming our mailing list - if you do not want to be onour list please fax this page back to11111111. Needless to say the single a4 fax is black with small white print on it and its a premium number to send it back to - probably take about 3-4 minutes with your average fax to send.
  5. I use car washes most of the time just to keep the general grime off and then hand wash etc when I think it needs it - every couple of months probably. Never had any trouble but them I think cars are for driving not polishing.
  6. I agree with censorship and would rather it cut out things which are meant perfectly innocently that let anything through which should not be there. At my office I do a lot of expert witness work and have a lot of statemnts etc sent to me re legal cases. It's amazing how often emails are bounced back to solicitors saying their email contains inappropriate language but they are never upset ny it.
  7. :lol:You're going Latin again! It's all greek to me but I'm ancient
  8. What do we think the collective phrase should be for the Lexus. I like an enlightenment of lexi (that's another story!) but it could be an impoverished of Lexuses or how about a whisper of Lexus (similar to a murmer of starlings but quieter) maybe this is just for LS drivers!
  9. It's probably been posted before but what is the official plural of Lexus. My latin says it should either be Lexi or Lexus but we also see Lexuses etc etc
  10. Back on the subject originally posted! It's great to read that it will be down when you have been panicking cause you couldn't log on. At least I now know it was not me that was the problem - well this occasion maybe. As for the other comments:?: I just use computers not understand them. Afterall they're only grown up calculators!
  11. Very neat - How do I replace my grill badge with it.
  12. Don't think any one knows me - not been to any meets yet. But it's Jonathan to those who might know me. Looking forward to the trip - the more the merrier - I'll badger a few I know I'm trying to get to join the club. Seeing a few of you have children has anyone thought of doing a Disneyland Paris run say for the Bonfire Party. Bonfires not much but the fireworks are great.
  13. When we see some snow I'll let you know if it's an IS thing or if the LS is as bad. Haven't had any weather bad enough for a few years to even notice.
  14. My local dealer, Oxford, don't even do tyres. All they do is take it to another dealer (a ford one) who have a Kwik fit tyre section. May as well go to a tyre specialist and it appears to be something which no one considers breaks warranty rules etc.
  15. I was looking at an LS but they were saying it could be done but would cost £6000!
  16. A mate of mine has got ALV15 on his alvis and saw PLU58 on a morgan the other day. I've also seen PEP51 floating around. I've just got humble R22ELL waiting for RU55ELL but as RU52ELL was auctioned at starting prices of £3500 I'll probably give it a miss. The wife's got G10 VAL but when the sun shines on it you lose the 1. All her friends refer to her as GO VAL.
  17. What an opportunity! Get your boy a passport (3 day turn around is possible- they've stopped the same day) and at the end of October it could be sunny climbs! My daughter will be coming (9) and loves little ones - she likes champagne too! Must take after her mother.
  18. Make it September 28/29 and I'll be there. I was planning a champange tasting evening at our local village hall prior to Christmas so I'll be able to stock up.
  19. Sounds a good idea but silly question - Where is it. If no coach I can take some.
  20. This sounds like bad news. I made enquiries about updating to the dvd system but everything came back to Lexus.
  21. I would have been there like a shot but big Ball to go to on the Saturday night so can not make it. Any chance of organising it again some time?
  22. I agree don't change for the sake of change. Yes a button for last 1,2,3 days post would be good. Also can we have an option, as in gold, to go back to main forum after a post. Anything that would speed site up - it's getting a bit slow.
  23. Been good so far this year. Week in Portugal just after New Year, long weekend at Disneyland Paris, week in Washington DC (Business) but wife and duaghter came for a holiday and just got back from 2 and a bit weeks in southern Spain - drove there in the LS (brilliant) and took the in laws as well (not so brilliant). Unfortunately nothing planned now till next spring.
  24. Hey - ringer!!! ;) Can peeps with places they recommend please email the details to me. Sammy@honda-r.fsnet.co.uk I will be away most of this week, but I shall try to sort something when I get back. Ta Sam I used to race karts years ago too. The major factor is the power weight ratio (plus skill) and i've put on about 6 or 7 stone since I last raced. Maybe that's why I need an LS to carry me around. The karting trach near me went bust a while ago but a nights racing there used to work out at about £55 a head. Another thing to consider would be one of the combination days. I know Silverstone do some where you drive karts, rally cars, skid cars, off road and a sprint test but that's pretty pricey. There's another one over next to the M1, can't remember the exact place at the moment, where they do a great half day, clay pigeon shooting competition, quad bike trial, honda pilot racing and kart racing. All done outside so a bit weather dependent but last time I looked it was about £75 a head including a bit of lunch.
