  1. Complete shame they’ve stuck the old V8 in it. On the plus side, maybe they’ll do something equally crazy with the LCF.
  2. I respect Harris, but it's beyond me how anyone can test an RC-F, pretty much dislike it and in the next breath rate a GS-F above an M5. I've driven RC-Fs and GS-Fs back to back so many times - and I dare anyone to seperate their driving characteristics.
  3. The only reason to go for a GS-F is if you want 4 doors (or to do some taxiing on the side). Don’t listen to the hype about the GS-F being so much better than the RC-F.
  4. My views are unbiased. Having years of F car ownership I'm allowed to have an opinion. I gave up my last F car for the very reason that you are accusing me of being biased. As for making derogatory 'truck' comment - I''ll file that under 'harmless banter' 🙂
  5. Definitely take off the after market stuff. I wouldn't touch anything other than a stock car.
  6. Has Jayemm driven a Lexus IS-F? Could get a bit of promotion.
  7. There’s a FLSH White ISF on AT, 90k @ £14.5k, so £17k, to me, would be optimistic.
  8. I’d go for NGenco. Wow. Lexus managed to sell Anniversary editions to the public. Thought they’d be stuck in the showrooms forever.
  9. Brilliant 🤣 It’s out of manufacturer’s warranty in April. Spent today looking for a replacement! 😂 I will point out that after breaking down on day one, the 63 has been faultless. It does get an awful lot of attention - more than my old carbon. Small children run for cover and dogs yelp. All fun within the speed limits. 145 mph (overseas) in my carbon, made me realise that speed isn’t the answer. Carbon was however a great car.
  10. I dig that. I found that to the get the best out of my ISF or my RCF, I had to drive them hard. The AMG provides more entertainment at low speeds. Will always love F cars however - hence why I still hang round here 😁
  11. Plenty fast enough and being 4wd, obtainable all year round. Life after Lexus 👍
  12. Decent review. I have to disagree when he says that the RCF can be enjoyed at low speeds, whereas the 63 and the M4 have to be thrashed. It’s actually completely the other way round.
  13. I’ve owned an RC-F, Boxster and a 996 C4. One thing that Porsche always seem to get right is the steering. F cars can’t compete! Also factor in that both the GSF and RCF are heavy cars circa 1800kgs. What’s a 996..... 1300kg? Add the fact that the F 5.0 litre engine lacks torque low down, and you’re dealing with cars far removed from the character of a 996. As for RCF v GSF, the motoring press rave about the GSF and slag the RCF. I’ve driven several GSFs, and honestly, for the average driver, you’d wonder how on earth the motoring press can separate the two. Of course, the RCF was always pitched against the M4, and it was never going to win that battle. Both great cars, but make the choice on your needs rather than what the press tell you. One last point. RMS, IMS etc - you can forget all that crap in the world of Lexus 👍
  14. Neither of my Fs ever did this. However, both, on several ocassions made a clunk going in to first. I don't think Lexus got the F gearboxes at all right. In auto, pain in the bum deseperate to get in to eighth gear. In manual, unecessarily jerky. Real shame.
  15. It’s like anything really. It’s just luck My IS-F had a fair few things go wrong (and it was low mileage FLSH). Water pump, air con & steering rack. My RC-F, nothing went wrong at all. Not sure how much an ISF warranty is these days, but they used to be very cheap. Worth looking into now that the ISF is an old car.
  16. Common faults, as you said, include the trans radiator. Also be aware that water pumps can leak and steering racks can needing replacing (approx £4k) - L-SB-0016-11. I've also heard of brake servos failing. Originally, IS-Fs were pretty much bullet proof, but as you've rightly pointed out, the IS-F is getting old now, so they will of course get more and more expensive to maintain due to reliability issues. As some have found out, parts can be expensive (and rare).
  17. Same story as the F seats I skipped. Like this, but twice as good.
  18. Taking up space in my garage. Made it clear I was going to bin them. No genuine interest on this forum. Two of the newer members on here contacted me, asked for some pics. I sent a video showing the seats were mint and never heard anything. Very rude, but there you have it. As I've always maintained, selling F cars, very difficult. Giving F parts away, just as difficult.
  19. There’s drone with the stock exhaust. After market replacements just amplify it. The inability to get a decent noise out of an F car without compromise was one of the major reasons for me saying goodbye to F cars.
  20. Thanks @4969_LXS. Definitely. Always loved them. Sound great as well. I would imagine they drink fuel however 😞 I used to be a big VW fan. I've owned..... 6 Golfs (GTi 16v x 2, VR6 x 2, 4 Motion and R32 MK5) and 3 Passats.
