  1. Thanks for your feedback. :D The boot-lid came with the spolier and the lid used to open all the way when new, :) but over time its 'pop-up' strength has become less and less. I clean the rubber seal around the boot opening area and all other visable parts connected with the boot-lid hinges, but this makes no difference. Its weird how those metal bars in the boot actually compose any sort of tention anyway, can anybody enlighten?
  2. Hi, It used to go up when it was new, but now i've used it a lot, it barely goes up 1mm Any ideas on how to get it up again? (Remote opening from the keyfob i mean!)
  3. Try giving Lexus Woodford a ring, can highly recommend them. My 30k service was FREE ! Even better :)
  4. I said the IS250's lumpy ride reminds me of my IS200 Sport. I owned a IS200 SPORT '02' Plate for 2 years and have owned my IS300 '04' plate also for 2 years now and I can say that you are wrong when you say that the IS300 is the same as a IS200 except for a bigger engine, Im sure other IS300 owners would back me up on this.
  5. I think that even within the next few months of many IS250's being sold onto the market, the IS300 will retain a strong following because of so few out there. :) I drove the IS250 and the ride comfort reminded me of my old IS200 Sport , the IS300 is the perfect car for someone like me who drives 150 miles every day and requires smoothness in power and comfort. :)
  6. Hi I had the same problem with my 04 IS300 Saloon, I took it in recently because it also had bad handling and tyre wear problems and they cured it all under guarantee. They changed the top mounts on the front struts and while they were at it, changed the front shocks/struts too, 'cos there have been occasions with faulty shocks/struts. No more noise at the front end :D
  7. If you leave the ignition on for say 5 mins, does the volt-meter on the dash drop slightly below 12v ? If i does then the battery is on its last legs
  8. You should have a Volt-Meter on your dash, what reading do you get with just the ignition on?
  9. A heck of a big difference ! :D I drove a NEW IS200 Sport for 2 years and did 40k miles and then traded this in for a NEW IS300 which ive had for a year with 20k miles on it now. When i drive the IS200 courtesy car i notice the difference big time cos the IS200 engine and road noise it much louder! and the power Ha Ha Yes ! theres a big power difference :)
  10. I wouldn't worry, as the bonnet rarely needs to be opened on a LEXUS :D :D unlike their competitors
  11. My IS300 is starting to handle very nervously and twitchy on roads at speeds below 60mph, it seems to bump-steer and throw me from side to side when travelling in a straight line, not forgetting to mention the poor tyre wear. Had the thing laser aligned too :duh:
  12. Lovely Motor :D Just wished I didnt have Tyre wear and alignment problems on a brand new £30k car though :o
  13. OKAY, before I start, my wheels are never kerbed, i avoid pot-holes and they spend most of there time on the motorway. Now............. I had an IS200 Sport from new and i traded it in after 20 months with 37k miles on it, it was still on the original tyres and ALL tryes had worn down perfectly even I traded this car in for a NEW IS300 and within 7 months and 10k miles later the inner edges to the front tyres are now illegal, the remaining part of the tyres still show 6mm. The whole handling of the car feels shagged , it bumps steers, tram-lines and just about ever bump is transmitted through the cabin ! It seriously needed a 4 wheel laser alignment, but felt Lexus should pay, But... hey ! they wouldnt As i suspected, the fronts were toeing out, but just about every angle on all 4 wheels were out! This has been corrected with the alignment now but one of my CASTER angles is outside the tollerance figures and it can't be adjusted, i guess it won't affect tyre wear, but surely this can't be right for the cars handling? I'm dissapointed with a car that cost me £30k, Lexus can't sort out tyre wear! The ride does feel improved now but i still get a 'tugging' from the steering wheel at speeds below 40mph, it feels like there is no straight line stability at all !!! Anyone else get this on a NEW car?????????????
  14. Sounds like you maybe toeing out too much
  15. click on the link BRAKES AND SUSPENSION then click the link for 4 WHEEL ALIGNMENT My story is in here currently 2nd from bottom

  17. Well the IS300 isn't completely a Auto Don't forget the E-Shift gears :) when you fancy a change of driving style! I got tired of the constant clutch changing, 2nd gear clonking and the screaming 3500rpm at 70mph on my brand new IS200 Sport, i also drove an auto IS200 and felt that was much quicker from standstill than the manual, so it was a natural choice to go for the 3.0 litre auto, did you hear that? 3.0 litre, yes, 3.0 LITRE ohh did i mention it comes with 211 bhp as standard ! :D :D
  18. Ive got an IS300 with HID headlights and headlamp washers, it came like this from new. Whats this im hearing about you shouldnt have this combination?
  19. I fitted the fronts, they are dead easy to fit, you just remove a few screws hold the flap upto the car and then screw in the screws and job done. Remember to turn the front wheels on a lock, it will make fitting easier. I never fitted the back ones because the rear wheels do not kick up any crud :D Which is a bit of luck, cos i didnt fancy removing the rear wheels and taking the electric drill to the rear lining either !
  20. I recently read that the US manual IS300's aren't fitted with the LDS's anymore
