  1. I have to say, the IS was probably the last true Lexus. Later Lexus models seem to be a mishmash of Toyota and Lexus. Build quality definitely reduced over the years in MHO. I have a CT now which struggles to get into the Lexus category.
  2. My first Lexus was a 53 plate IS 200 SE. Great car had it for 13 years. I averaged about 34 mpg increasing to 40-44 on a long motorway run. Enjoy. What petrol company did you buy to go with it?
  3. Glad to hear Lexus Cambridge looked after you. They are my "go to" dealership.
  4. There will always be confusion and misunderstanding as long as the term " Jump starting" is used when applied to hybrids. The manual for my MY17 CT says the engine of the donor car should be started? May have to talk to somebody at Lexus who knows about these things.
  5. I have turned the keyless entry off on my CT. It is a driver customisation. Go to settings then car and take it from there. Come back if you have any problems.
  6. That's similar to me. Saw the IS 200 back in 2003 and thought the car looked amazing. Bought one the following year and kept it for 13 years.
  7. Welcome to LOC. What prompted the change?
  8. I agree. My first venture into the world of Lexus was the purchase of a 53 plate IS200 SE in 2004. Great car had it for 13 years. It had diamond cut wheels. Within 6 months I managed to scuff both front wheels. Asked Lsxus Readibg how much repair would be and theg said they would replace them under warranty as they could see a small amount of corrosion on them. Those were the days.
  9. I have a MY17 CT. I cannot get Lexus Link to work on my Galaxy S9. Even though the app is downloaded onto the phone the app does nothing.
  10. Glad to see Lexus living up to their reputation of customer service other car manufacturers can only dream of.
  11. I have a MY17 CT Premium. It is no problem on the motorway. Recently did a non stop drive of 145 miles and the car was a treat to drive. After two and a half years of ownership average MPG is 55 which is mostly local runs with some runs of about 150. Best mpg is 68 on motorway run. It is not a family car as boot space is too small for a decent amount of luggage. As 200h says test drive first as some potential owners and motoring media have found ride hard and CVT nosey at high revs. I have not found these two latter issues a problem and car overall is great to drive. Possibly a little too low for me now as I approach 70 so may consider a UX in the next few years..
  12. I had diamond cut wheels on my 03 plate IS200 and the wheels on that would only last about 2 years before corrosion set in again. Prestige Wheels in Milton Keynes use to charge about £ 100 a wheel to refurb Gave up in the end and after 13 years of ownership the wheels looked a disgrace. Ashamed to be seen in the car. Poor testimony to the Lexus brand. .
  13. Hello Bodyman. What is the name of the leather specialist company you used. I mày need their services on the drivers seat of my CT.
  14. Glad to hear another sensible car buyer did not listen to the claims in Motoring Press about how poor these cars are reported to be. Enjoy your car is better than you think.
  15. Thanks for all the advice, guys much appreciated. Otherwise I have to say the CT is a fine car, a pleasure to drive. May prove to be too low as I enter my 70's in which case I will be looking at a UX.
  16. Thanks Nemesis will give them a call and report back.
  17. On the subject of seats. Any of you fine people had any problems of excessive wear on the drivers seat bolster and if so how was it resolved? I have such problem on my MY17 Premium. Anybody ventured into the world of seat covers and have any recommendations in this regard? Thanks for your help as always on this Forum.
  18. I moved to a MY17 from an IS200. The only noise I experience in the CT is from the tyres on certain road surfaces and the infotainment system mouse that rattles. Otherwise the car is quite. Have to add it is a great car, excellant mpg and comfortable to drive.
  19. Welcome to LOC. I had a IS 200 SE for 13 years and apart from the usual service items never failed me, although a nightmare in snow. Car serviced at Lexus Reading who were superb throughout that time. I now have a CT and go to Lexus Cambridge for servicing.
  20. Maybe motor that cranks the engine has failed, similar to the starter motor on a traditional ICE. Sounds like an engine out and strip down of the drive shaft is needed.
  21. With all batteries fully charged does the car move if you put it in EV node?
  22. I have a Galaxy A9. Ht connects ok to the car but I cannot connect with Connected Sevices so cannot download maps from Lexus Link. Although the fault codes are indicated Lexus Customer Services cannot tell me what they mean so I do not know what I am doing wrong. Rubbish situation to be in.
  23. As mentioned in previous post had car looked at as part of service. Dealer thinks it could be steering column and best to monitor it? More likely problem with brakes I think.
