  1. Not sure. As I had a jap bumper I just measured the gap then took 1cm off to give me a 5mm border around the gap. This was fine for me with my 5 letter reg and as my car is import I'm allowed to use motorcycle numbers. The sizes I did my plates were: Front: 250mm x 120mm Back: 355mm x 180mm Not sure if the dimensions are identical for the UK car (Bazza took off the front plate holder iirc and posted some pics), but you are meant to use full size letters on a UK car so make sure they fit before you order the plate. There was a whole thread on this a few weeks back, and the lettering regulations are on the DVLA site.
  2. Yeah, but I got a custom sized plate from a mate that worked in Ripspeed in the big H as a special order. Not sure if you can do that sny more as i got my plates years ago before they started doing plate regulations for MOT. Fancy plates let you specify the size of the pates you want for both front or rear - after you've designed it, you can put in the dimensions you want - Maz (Tony) got a custom sized rear plate for the carbon-fibre trim I got him, like the one linked to the pics in my sig. KV
  3. Great car matey. My car has the JDM factory 'winter' option which has the switch to turn the inner boot lights to fog lights. Get it done - will look much better. I have a plain switch but it doesn't really look out of place. With an RS200 you'll have fun out there in IOM - I was there earlier his year for the TT races. I understand when you see a 'no limits' sign it actually means 'no limits' rather than 'national speed limit' here in England - i.e 70mph? I was told this by a mate that lives there and am seriously thinking of taking my RS200 to IOM to burn around some of the beautiful mountain roads there.... I went round the TT course in a MX5 which was a RIOT... Maybe a destination for a future meet!..... :winky:
  4. If you did a search you might find a few threads on this mentioning fancyplates.... :P :winky:
  5. My Altezza passed SVA without a hitch. The lamps are the same - they just work differently. - They act as night lights when headlights are on, or fog lamps when I press the switch. See pics in my sig...
  6. WOOOOOOOOOOO!!!! Karting today.... Piccies later ..... yay!!!!!
  7. They really did used to call me 'Shaft'... no really! :shutit:
  8. Try http://www.dpreview.com - great site for digicams and testing etc.
  9. You nutter! Nice Vid!! :)
  10. Good meet once again. Great to see some new faces, and PeeJ's great wheels :winky: I think we 0wn3d it a little with our bank of IS's - there were no other marques there as well organised as us and grouped... :P We must be getting used to meet whoring :zee:
  11. They increase powertransfer to the wheels?
  12. Yep I'm getting the HKS kit which at a basic level will take me to about 275 bhp, but the blitz kit is 325+ because it includes major engine components to increase reliability at higher boost. I decided on the HKS as the 'upgrade' I can do incrementally, and take to 330+ at a later date... Remember the price will be +VAT and plus fitting. You're looking at around £6k+ for the blitz turbo... Asam
  13. Have to be in 3rd to do 60 unfortunately, 0-60 would be much quicker if you could do 60 in 2nd. With an 8000 redline, I can... :winky:
  14. Depends on what route you're planning. How 'bout Richmond Park, then crossing the river at Kew to join the NCR at the Chiswick roundabout? I'm open to any other suggestions though. If someone has an Ace route for avoiding the traffic that'd be swell! Don't whatever you do try to cross the river at Kew Bridge - you'll be stuck for ages, even in the evening. Instead cross over Chiswick Bridge, and take a left at the bottom of the bridge, and follow this road along all the way along the river. It comes out at the top of Kew Bridge on the north side, take a right and you're a few hundred yards from Chiswick Roundabout and the A406 N. Circular... I know this as I work right beside Chiswick roundabout. I'll be heading up to Ace Cafe around 8ish, p'raps a little later ;) Kavey
  15. Me too for my Altezza if it fits...
  16. Doh! Looking great Tony - that trim suits the dark detailing really well. I'd maybe get a slightly smaller rear plate tho - it looks okay, but might sit a little better in the trim with a bit more of a gap around it. Your car is gunna look so great, esp when you get the paint job done! N1!
  17. I didn't think the rear's had camber adjustment? At least that's what I was told when i was getting my alignment done for the new wheels being put on my Altezza...
  18. moi.... aussi avec mon turbo... a bientot (yes okay, i'm sure the grammar is bad)
  19. Yep. No bolts on either my front or rear plates - just lots of 3M :) Glad you like the trim Tony - love to see the pics
  20. After 3 and half years, the gearbox on my Altezza has started to play up a bit... :( At standstill, sometimes it has trouble getting into first gear, either requiring me to 1. slam it in, 2. double de-clutch, 3. try a different gear then first again. Accelerating hard, 2nd gear now crunches a little when the revs are above 5000, and trying to switch to 2nd at 7500 at the peak of my power-band is a right no-no. Could this problem be similar to the notchyness some of you have mentioned? How much should a change of gearbox oil cost inc labour - might this help, or would this be changed at a normal service interval? I might get TDi to do it when the turbos being fitted in a few weeks... Are there any other indications that might suggest another problem? The car has done 46,200 miles. It's only recently it's started to do this, and it happens warm or cold. The only difference in driving style of late is much more town stuff, so I rarely get a chance to put much power through the box, apart from the odd sprint to 50mph on a dual carriageway. Asam
  21. If you've not been using Optimax, it'll take a few tankfuls to 'clean' the gunk in your engine to realise the full potential. The best test is to use Optimax for a while, let it run down, then use normal unleaded. I could almost guarantee you'll notice the difference and lack of performance in the 95 RON fuel, and head straight back to Optimax... :winky: In my opinion, it's worth the extra....
  22. Nice article Gav! I really like how you've put the screen up there - I want to do that if I can find a redundant sat/nav housing for the console... Does the mechanism still fold away? Asam
  23. bazza holds his hand up high and awaits to be counted if i'm able to go, then ME! :P
  24. :winky: Somebody say my name? I've got JAE in my diary :) but I might have to go to Japan with work and might not be around :( I should know in the next couple of weeks what the score is... If I'm not going to Japan, I'll be there... with my tent... and a crate of b33r for the Friday.. :P
