  1. Honesty mate, that is not what I am thinking at all! I once had a similar problem with a bodyshop, and they were an insurance approved place too, used by main dealers. I even paid extra for using them over a local place because I wanted the peace of mind of a decent job, but they were a bunch of cowboys in the end, despite having all sorts of fancy cars parked outside. Made so many basic mistakes. I am obviously older and wiser now (well.....sort of ) Regarding the price that Auto-serve quoted you, I have no idea on that; thats between you and them - not my place to get involved. My concern with taking it elsewhere to complete would be that the new place would have a get out of jail free card if you were still not happy by blaming the work done by ELITE CAR REFINISHING.......... I hope you were not overly aggressive, because that will not get you anywhere. Just go back and firmly tell them to complete the job. Good Luck :) Anees
  2. Could you please name the garage? Sorry to ask; did you choose them on recommendation or because they were cheap? Have you any pictures of the poorly aligned parts?
  3. Glad to hear that mate - I was getting this sinking feeling that you had gone grey and no longer bothered about modding...... (No offence! ) Now you are back witha vengence!! :winky:
  4. WOW!!! I sense an updated banner coming along................ ;) Car is looking stunning mate! Well Done! It really is nice to have you back on here modding your car like you did with your IS200. Looking really special now :D
  5. You will be fine. Fuchs make great oil and lubricants. Don't worry :) Anees :D
  6. Look superb! Really do set the car off! :) EDIT: Not that I want to be a bad influence but it would be interesting to see what they would look like painted black on your car (maybe something to consider when you get bored :P)
  7. I used to like Guile! :D Do they still have the original characters in it like Dalsim (spelling?) (that stretchy guy), Blanka, Vega etc?
  8. I know for the mk2 Eibach make some lowering springs. Not sure, but would be worth checking to see if they do any for the mk1 too. :D
  9. Power, Economy and Comfort for around £15K? BMW 330D 535D 335D Whichever you got the best deal on (but the x35d's you won't get less then 18 months old for your budget) :D :D
  10. I'll have to get a vid like Anees did so you can hear it mate, sounds better now it's not blowing (caught it on the road near home), just need to try the Brillo pads on the exhaust first :D I'd caught one of the brackets that was holding two of the pipes together and it was blowing slightly, made a fantastic noise though, sounded like some big V engined monster! Gonna see if it can remove the bark off em cos they're filthy! I need to clean my tail pipes up too really. I heard using a cutting compound is supposed to bring them up great. :D
  11. To be fair, their is good and bad in every area, but obviously Manchester/Oldham do seem to have more bad areas then other places. Its annoying for people like myself who do share a postcode with a council estate down the road (not that their is anything wrong with council estates in general) which has a very bad reputation and pushes our insurance prices up, this despite the fact that I have been in my area since 1992 and in all that time we have never one had a car stolen from our road and I think the last burglary was around 10 years ago.
  12. Thing is mate you live in Suffolk, which is a much much more desirable location for an insurance company to quote on then Manchester/Oldham. We in this area do unfortunetly have to pay alot more for insurance. Sky Insurance for example are unable to quote for my postcode. I know the OL postcode comes up as a REFER and some of the Manchester M postcodes are also classed as a REFER on a list of insurance company ostcode desirability......... :(
  13. Insurance companies do seem to be wise to that old 2nd driver thing now........ I assume you have tried Money Supermarket and Confused.com? Also take a look at this list, which I have found really helpful (posted by Scorpion a while back) AA 0800 444777 Academy 0800 7314984 Admiral Insurance 0800 600 800 Adrian Flux 08700 777888 Adrian Flux 8700 777240 AON 01384 552 67 A-One Insurance 01202 760022 A-Plan 01635 521818 Ashley Insurance 01785 214444 Autonet 0870 2400999 Axa 0800 0154292 Barclays 0870 600 1414 Bell Direct 0800 140 180 Bennetts 0990 202090 Budget 0800 801954 Catterall 01254 695 055 Churchill 0800 200 326 CIS 0845 7464646 Cool Quotes 01923 690800 CoverSure [RallySure] 01829 733 880 Coversure [Rallysure] 01829 733880 Crowne Thorne 01344 771626 Crowthorne Insurance 01344 771626 Dial Direct 0500 333 600 Direct Line 0117 946 8846 Eagle Star 0800 33 38 00 Eastwood 0141 6365822 Egger Lawson 0115 9415255 Elephant 0870 0131072 Elestree Insurance Services 0181 386 7766 Endsleigh Insurance 0121 651 6250 Footman James 0121 561 4196 Fred Roberts & Partners James 0191 5650222 Gladiator 0800 90 80 80 Greenlight 01277 263 030 Halifax 0845 6089913 Hill House Hammond 01733 310899 Hyperformance 020 8939 3949 JDI Insurance 0118 950 2155 John Denton 0118 950 2155 Keith Michaels 0181 642 7868 Kwik Fit 0870 0507777 or 0870 0500870 Lexus Insurance 0800 138 3 200 Lifesure Group 01480 474604 Liverpool Victoria 0800 608608 Livingstone 01935 706258 Locker Insurance 01977 51 51 66 Martin Gray Insurance 01481 728072 Masterquote 0870 2411572 Nash Warren Darren 0121 561 4484 NFU Mutual 01677 422517 Noel Dazley Co 01276 25996 Norwich Union 0870 242 0800 OAMPS Insurance 01372 467 266 OPI 0121 3250633 Osbourne & Sons 020 8388 6000 Pace Ward Financial [MLR Recommended] Speak to Insbro Performance Direct 0870 604 0136 Premium Search 0800 109876 Privilege 0870 243 5555 or 0113 292 5555 Privilege Insurance 0113 292 5555 RAC 0845 3000755 Randall Pace 01782 286311 Roadsure 020 8989 3339 Schofield Insurance 0113 250 0377 Super Car Insurance 01604 615 400 Swinton 0800 6565631 Tangent 01923 254 888 Tangent 01923 254888 Taylor Price & Co 08451 262728 www.directchoice.co.uk Tesco 0845 300 9900 Tett Hamilton and Company 01275 856618 Torview Insurance 0181 6998888 Touchline 0800 207800 TSB 0800 7313687 Wilsons 0161 874 8011 or 0990 143424 Wilsons 0990 143 424 Hope that helps :)
  14. I wonder if you could maybe get somekind of paddle shift system for it? http://www.worksbell.co.jp/en/products/nig...ager/paddle.htm To be honest, the RX300 is a a lovely car to cruise about in, so personally think the standard transmission suits it very wll. :D Good Luck however.
  15. Oops, didn't see your edit, you linked to the same link as I did.
  16. You are right............ probably spent more on mods then I have buying the car! :o Take a look at this : http://www.max-boost.co.uk/max-boost/supra...g_the_beast.htm (EBV Mod bit) We ONLY want the MBC to control boost on the first turbo and then want the EBC to control overall boost. Like I said get the boost controller and try and meet up with us and I'll do it for you and explain better. ;) As for a replacement? Erm.....probably something totally different, maybe a hair dressers car? Always liked the Honda S2000 (yes I know you have to rev the nuts off it!) or maybe just look into a Evo (a car I think you need to own once!).......... not sure yet mate. I just want something that offers fantastic driveability and fun............
  17. Thanks guys. :) @Aido - the car actually uses two boost controllers. The EBC to control overall boost (1.2bar) and then the MBC to increase boost on the first turbo only to make pick up much quicker. I am going to do it to Imran's car in when he gets it back from Steves, so if you are free at the time (and you get the same MBC I'll do it to yours too). I have some spare bits of silicone hoses etc you can have so all you will need is the MBC. This is the one to get: http://www.3barracing.com/product_6.htm It is a mod recommended by Stu Hogan (he is a US Supra guru - you might have heard of him) ;) @Aido -yep the thread pattern on the tyres is lovely and they are rated better in the wet then the Goodyear Eagle 1 GSD3 by Evo magazine! ::D Right selling the car.............. You are right, I shouldn't really be thinking about selling BUT I do fancy something else and I will be selling both the Aristo and my BMW 330D. Had the Aristo over a year and the BMW over 3 years so I now want a change. If you remember the car was up to sale about 6 months ago too, but I didn't really push for a sale because I discovered it needed the suspension arms replacing at the back to pass the MOT and I couldn't have (in good conscence) sold it to anyone until it was fixed, so I decided to *** it, spend the £1000 it cost in parts and then get all my mods put on it and do it up properly. Now the car is right I can sell because I have a clear conscence. What I do love is that its a talking point the car. Only last week someone pulled their window down some lights and asked me if it was a twin turbo, I said yes and they gave me the thumbs up :D Its nice that only a few people really know what it is too ;) :D Whatever I replace it with I'm sure won't be as fast, it is probably one of the cheapest ways to get a 400bhp (ish) car ever. If I had the space I would keep it because I know its a MINT example of a Aristo. I just want something abit more raw, with a manual box that really feels fast! Something where you can have fun at legalish speeds :D
  18. Very nice and the car looks looks in great nick with no stone chips noticable on the bumper (I remember mine got covered with them!) :D
  19. That is great news!! FINALLY some good news!
  20. Originally I'm sure they were around £350 + Vat from the fronts and £500 + Vat for the 10" rears! :o
  21. Hi mate, Welcome to the club :D Your IS200 is a straight 6, not a V6 (I think??) You won't really get a substantial improvement in performance without getting a bolt-on supercharger, but they are very expensive if you can get hold of them. If you have £600 to spend I would probably get an exhaust and an induction kit which will help a bit and depending on when it was last done, give it a damn good service! I'd say clear of NOS since as far as I know only Adrian Flux will insure a car wtih Nos.
  22. Thanks mate. I tried the N96 too, but the TV didn't seem as good to be honest. The Nokia TV out cable also works with the Samsung Innovate i850?? phone that my mate had- that really was very clear! I use Opera for the Web, but I agree its still not great!
