  1. At least with the above data people stand a better chance of finding one for less. GS and early LS owners can use aftermarket bearings for Supras if they can find them.
  2. Didn't know bearings had numbers, but I suppose Toyota buy them in and add their own part number (and fat markup) to them.
  3. From the Toyota EPC... BEARING (FOR FRONT AXLE HUB) IS200/300: 90363-32035 (also Toyota Crown from Dec 95-Dec 03) GS300/430 Mk.1/2: 90903-63006 (also Toyota Supra from Oct 93-May 96) LS400 (to Jul 97): 90903-63006 (also Toyota Supra from Oct 93-May 96) LS400 (Jul 97 to Aug 00): 90903-63011 (also Toyota Century from Aug 98) RX300 (to Feb 03): 90369-43008 (also MR2 SW20 from Dec 89-Aug 99 plus some Camries) SC430: 90903-63006 (also Toyota Supra from Oct 93-May 96)
  4. Got a set from Prolex when he was doing them cheap. One side's flickery when cold but I reckon that's down to the ballast falling off its sticky mount and getting banged about. I'll try and fix it (preferably without getting a 23kV belt off it) sometime. MOT testers didn't seem to notice this week. Didn't notice the non-E-approved LED tail lights, either!
  5. Ring Lexus Hanley, they'll wipe the floor with those.
  6. Mine cost me £1700 inc. VAT, that also includes free LPG system servicing for as long as I own the car. Work was carried out at the Phil Price Rally School, Phil runs all of his rally cars on LPG and is one of Autogas Worldwide's approved installers.
  7. Yes, definitely. I don't get much more mpg than that on petrol to be honest! Like I said, it's very mixed driving (a big chunk of it is winding Mid Wales roads). I'd expect you to get 30mpg on a run on LPG.
  8. Average about 230-240 miles on 60 litres (about £24 worth), mixed urban/motorway/windy-rural driving. That's 4 miles per litre or about 18mpg. I do have a heavy right foot, mind! :D
  9. I believe that's the squealie bit, yes. Can't remember which way round they go, so check the ones that you take out, and fit the Mintex ones the same way. If the rear ones are like the ones on the GS, they are VERY strange looking - to me at least! Pay attention when taking the old ones off so that you can figure out which way the clips go back on.

    Lpg

Been running my GS for about 2 years now, Romano SVI (multipoint injection) system fitted with a 75 litre Stako toroidal tank in the spare wheel well. Very happy with it, it's more than paid for itself. Quibbles:- At high load & high RPM (hard acceleration in PWR mode, for example) it can't get fuel through quickly enough and will trip back to petrol until you ease off the throttle. Bigger injectors would probably cure this, but apparently I've got "C" injectors fitted already, and bigger ones aren't available! Power is down a bit on LPG (noticeable when you switch to petrol and the car suddenly has more oomph), could increase the fuelling to counter this (got the cable and the software to communicate with the Romano ECU) but this means it trips back to petrol (see above) at a lower loading.
  11. Take a trip to Stoke-on-Trent, namely Lexus Hanley. They undercut Cardiff by about £200 on my 60K service, worth the trip even when you take fuel into account!
  12. Got multipoint on mine. More to go wrong (6 injectors instead of one), but runs fine. If you're fussy about more things to go wrong, ride a pushbike instead of a Lexus! :P Only niggle is that it can't get enough fuel through at high load/RPM, at which point it'll trip back to petrol until you ease off a bit. Could do with bigger injectors really, but as mine are already apparently size "C" the newer (Romano fast) injectors don't go any bigger!
  13. Mine was the following (formatted below to fit a Samsung D500 screen):- My mother called me a git when I sent it to her
  14. <found in b3ta.com newsletter #292> How much could missing a letter out cost you? In the case of this unfortunate it was $503,000! First link is his initial listing, the second is the guy who bought it and re-listed it. Ouch! http://tinyurl.com/ysd89b http://tinyurl.com/2q2e37
  15. Got an almost-full can of expanding foam with a blocked nozzle, can't bring myself to throw it in the bin...
  16. I did that before. Started looking round for stuff to burn, spotted what looked like a piece of wood in the grounds of the flats behind my house. Grabbed it, turned out to be wood-effect uPVC. Chucked it on anyway, resulting in a thick plume of smoke that went up about 8 feet then mushroomed out. Flats 40 feet away, couldn't see them through the smoke. Whoops! :P
  17. Yeah, thought it was that one. There's an amp inside, where the sunroof would go! Here it is at JAE (higher res. available here):-
  18. I do that sort of distance on a tank all the time. Here's the tank...
  19. Good lad. For anyone else thinking about it, you've got to sign up to get the full list of participating dealers, but last time I checked the majority of dealers were involved. In a dense area such as London you're guaranteed to find one nearby! Also of course, if you're close enough to Stoke-on-Trent you can go to Lexus Hanley and save even more! I'm about 100 miles from there and it's worth the trip!
  20. I thought VED bands were based on emissions. Why does the choice of wheels push you up the band? Or do the Avantgarde and Sport models have higher emissions?
  21. Haha, mine was pretty low last week with 6 bags of self levelling compound in the boot (150Kg). Plus a full 75 litre LPG tank. Plus the best part of a full tank of petrol! Could get one finger in at the back, or four round at the front (wheel arches, that is). Got to do the same again soon too, need to buy 22m² of floor tiles! Anybody any idea how much a pack of tiles weighs? I don't mind putting 150Kg (equivalent to one really fat guy) in the boot, any more and I'd rather put some in the footwells or make two trips.
  22. Saw the topic title, wondered where Bootwell was. Thought it might be near Tewkesbury. (apologies, I've had a few to drink...)
