  1. If Stoke-on-Trent isn't too much of a trek for you, give Lexus Hanley a bell and get a price. They usually wipe the floor with everyone else, including Lexus Stoke! By the way, welcome to the club!
  2. Just emailed the link to our Emergency Planning dept...
  3. No, agreed. Simply walk through any major city wearing a t-shirt saying 'All Brummies are queers' or similar (substitute for whatever city you're in) and hey presto you'll have a couple of gallon of petrol through your letterbox the same evening. Doubt that'll work in Brighton though. "All Brightoners are straight" might spark a few off tho!
  4. My sister's Avensis (2001 1.8 VVTi Estate) is a very nice car, but it's always nice to get back behind the wheel of the GS.
  5. I read that as meaning that getting someone sacked from work is always the best policy!
  6. Suggestion from my mate (hi Gem!) How about going to the gym before work? Or swimming?
  7. Y-reg (82) Toyota Corolla Estate D-reg (86) Toyota Corolla H-reg (90) Toyota Carina II P-reg (96) Toyota Carina E N-reg (94) Lexus GS300 52-reg (02) Lexus GS300 The H-reg is still in the family. The P-reg belongs to my sister's ex. She's now got an X-reg (01) Avensis Estate.
  8. Just to look at the flip-side of things, at least you know they'd be on the ball if some thieving b*****d nicked your car and was driving round in it. If it's your turf, hopefully they'll get used to seeing the "young lad in the Lexus" and will leave you alone, unless they spot "someone else driving that young lad's Lexus"! I think the only cop who's pulled me in my current car is one of my mates!
  9. Ouch! 1,000 miles on petrol! I begrudge doing half that on LPG, and that's only 50p a litre! Mind you, if your car "broke down" as you were leaving JAE, and the RAC had to tow you home... :winky:
  10. 500 mile round trip from here - ouch!
  11. Maybe Aido can help. Firstly because he's got a V300, and secondly because his ARS is constantly on show!
  12. First one is the Monitor-Merrimac Bridge-Tunnel. 36°57'00"N 76°24'20"W Couldn't find the others, but did come across the following double-spiral bridge at Kawazu, approximately 34°43'25"N 138°56'13"E (no clear aerial view though)
  13. ihpj, if your statement is 100% accurate (especially if you have documentation to back it up) why not name-and-shame? Or even give-us-a-clue-and-shame? At least we'll then know who to avoid!
  14. Problems stalling when cold sounds like underfuelling, mine did that until I upped the fuelling a bit (got the cable to program the Romano ECU). As for valve wear, did you have a Flashlube kit fitted? This is recommended for all Toyota engines.
  15. What's the car's mileage? Mine does that, according to the engineer at Lexus Hanley it's due to a worn belt, tends to go away once the engine's warmed up. Bought a new belt, not got round to swapping it yet though.
  16. No Lexus? I'll have a Toyota Aristo then, please! :P
  17. Yes it can, but ensure a Flashlube kit (look on eBay) is fitted, this lubricates the valves and makes up for the lack of lubrication that would normally be provided by the petrol.
  18. Lego Technic taught me how a differential worked! :D
  19. Mine have the Lexus logo on the left (where a flag would go). If they get arsey I'll just scribe it, snap it off along the scribe mark and stick it down alongside, butting neatly up to, but not forming part of, the numberplate.
  20. Texaco, just off M4 J35. Unleaded 108.9, Diesel 114.9, LPG 71.5 (bearing in mind LPG at Morrisons is 49.9)
