Thats great to know that the 2nd unit is covered. I had mine replaced in April04 under the warranty and the cd player after playing for 4 mins just packs up. I have contacted Lexus and they are dealing.

I think that the warranty for the audio system has been extended from 4 to 6 years. I have a 2000(yr) Is 200 SE and had the cd ( Audio)replaced in April2004. It has now played up again where after playing for 15 mins it packs up and becomes distorted. I have contacted Lexus Southampton and they will be ordering a second replacement audio sustem.

If this copper has a bee in his bonnet about lights I would suggest that he either does something about it or backs off and starts looking for criminals instead of harrasing motorists. To keep stopping the same vehicle and doing nothing about it other than upsetting the driver with advice he already knows is not on. I would suggest a trip to the local traffic office and speaking to one of the senior traffic officers or sergeants and get to the bottom of this.

My tastes are: Any cds by Dizzy Gillespie, Miles Davis, Charlie Parker, Arturo Sandoval followed by Vivaldi's Four Seasons, Gloria and Bach's Brandenburg Concertoes. also taking in Lenny Kravitz

Had mine replaced a few weeks when error3 loomed up and all my cds were jammed inside. Entire unit replaced without any problems and 5 weeks later the cds were returned. The unit was sent somewhere in the Midlands My IS200 is 4yrs old.

Very pleased to get the new audio fitted last Thursday. Lexus Southampton did the changeover as per 5 year warranty in 4 days. The old unit is now sent to Lexus somewhere in the midlands where the jammed cds are extracted and returned. They also did a free check of the car before handing it back with the completed check form.

I think any conversation in a pub should be taken with a pinch of salt. The landlady probably said that to get a discussion going and sell more beer!

Happened to me yesterday. All cd's were jammed and unit US. A new audio unit was ordered and is being put in on Thursday under 5 year guarantee. Would put this good service on dealers but unable as screen comes up ' sign on' and I am already signed on but will not open up. TOP MARKS TO LEXUS SOUTHAMPTON.

Thanks, obviously liking jap cars I want to be on good speaking terms with them, they may even turn up at one of the jap car meets. A 5 mtr long dropped kerb is now being put in by the council. They are also backing into the car park at the front of the house and leaving in forward gear, this in itself is less noisy. Still prefer the Lexus to the Subaru range.

Well chaps I have been along to Lexus meets and seen all the modified Lexus cars but a new family have moved in 2 doors away and they have 2 Subaru Imprezas. When they go out early in the morning their exhausts would wake up the dead. Its like a plane taking off. I have not spoken to them yet but the cars appear to very noisy when reversing and they cough and splutter in a roaring sense when in reverse. Does anyone know about the legalities about noisy exhausts? My MOT garage told me that the Subarus are made like that and being noisy cars one has to put up with it. I know that 'failing to maintain an exhaust system' is a Construction and Use Offence. These cars are far noisier that any blown exhaust and the entire road are losing sleep when they go out early in the morning. I can say that I found all the Lexus modified cars quite reasonable in the noise sense compared to these 2 monsters!

I have read through the threads and Donna-M sounds like a relic from the 18th century. I cannot agree with anything she puts forward and its either a 'windup' or some one who badly needs educating.

This is all very discouraging , my daughter went to a small party on Boxing Day at a local sailing club in Southampton and all the guest's tyres incl the DJ were slashed. My daughter had 2 tyres slashed on her Micra. The poor DJ and those with bigger cars had all 4 tyres done. There is the problem that if you saw the so and so's and hit them you would be the one finishing up in court for assault.

I bought a Nikon CoolPix 4300 last year. ( 4 million pixels) They are between £330 and £400. Well reviewed in the Digital Camera mags. Nikon and Olympus are amongst the leaders for good pictures and reliability.

Bad driving is bad driving no matter what age. There are many yobs driving around under the age of 30! Deepest sympathy concerning the crunch, the other driver may have been a retired tank commander. Report it to your insurance and I feel sure that all will end well.

I can see the logic behind banning someone and thus preventing that person under an alias from re-applying. Close vetting is required.Complete mystery as to who and why but I suppose it will come out in the wash in time. Something to ponder over at one of the next meets!

What I have read has left me gob smacked, simply incredible. It makes one wonder what the ingredients of the paint are. It will be very interesting to see the dealer's reply.
