  1. The motor has gone on my nearside headlamp adjuster. The garage was able to adjust to the correct height manually but I am told that I will need a new headlamp to adjust from inside the car using the switch. Don't think I will bother for the moment.
  2. That car has C L A S S Great colour and wheels
  3. Are we becoming a nation of moaners? I would have thought that the owner of the Lexus would have had enough intelligence to have worked out the problem himself without having to go to a main dealer.
  4. Thanks Dipstick the AA site is very useful for petrol prices, Did'nt know anything about it. Will attempt to keep my head above the sand!
  5. The kit comes with various diagrams. I think a good way round it is to either drive the car into my garage or put the headlights on when its dark and put the tapes so that they do not blind on the left that is nearside.
  6. Thanks Steve, My converter kit from Halfords are 2 sophisticated tapes but where do I put them? That is the problem. At£6 its a bit of a rip off but I have broken into the packet so I aim to make use of it. Thanks Besty , a piece of ordinary tape will do the job just as well. To all Lexi owners thats worth a couple of beers on the boat!
  7. Thanks Colin information very useful. According to local Lexus dealer the new IS will be made by Lexus and already plans are being worked out for all the dealerships to be entirely separate from Toyota that is up market Lexus showrooms.
  8. Just bought a headlight converter kit as I am going to France next Thursday with my Lexus IS200 SE for a holiday. The instructions in the kit only refer to the following Lexus models: GS200/LS200 GS300 RX300 LS400 No IS models are mentioned When you chaps make your French visits what do you do? Is there one of the above models that I can use as a guide? Many thanks for any replies.
  9. Lexus Southampton told me that Lexus is going to be marketed under that name in Japan the country of its origin. This will help to knock the Toyota Altezza on the head and the only model will be a genuine Lexus marketed throughout the world.
  10. Be extremely careful and administer only the dose advised on the bottle. I had a Rover 400 and was confused over metric measures > I put too much into the petrol and it helped to dissolve my cat. Luckily Rover also discovered a fault in the rotar arm of the 400 model and as a result I got a new cat at half price. I am however convinced that my over use of the petrol additive cleaner was the main reason why I suddenly came to a grinding halt.
  11. Lets not forget that nationalities from all over the world were killed in 9/11.
  12. My daughter is currently on holiday in Texas and today whilst obviously thinking of her my mind goes back to 9/11 and what has been the most horrific scenes ever seen on TV news. It is fitting that LOC gives this thread the dignity and sincerity this tragic event deserves. May they rest in peace and may this never happen again anywhere in this world.
  13. Ian/ Done the same with the front offside wheel arch. It goes into the garage tomorrow for a small cosmetic job to the tune of £80. Is it because the bug eyed shape at the front is deceiving ?I feel better knowing that I am not alone!
  14. You have me thinking. In about 1970 whilst in Southampton Police at that time, I dealt with a road accident in which a 4 year old was run over by an old Ford Anglia. She was not injured as she lay in the road parallel with the length of the car and it was high enough to pass over with her being under the centre of the vehicle. She was obviously checked over by the local accident unit at the hospital and with the parents we could'nt believe the child's luck.
  15. 28th Sept All being well I will be back from hols and hope to make it. That is 1 Kensington Green LexusIS200
  16. I tried feeding 6 names into the system and all had been taken so out of frustration I settled for Brian Berry. There are apparently 2 others on the web one being a Professor in Texas and the other a National Guard / Computer firm owner in Hawaii. It did however accept my name. Sorry chaps not very original!
  17. My worst car was a tinny Vauxhall Viva. A Wimpy lorry driver had just washed his lorry down ,driven out of the yard to the traffic lights where I was stopped. His wet boots slipped off the brake pedal and he collided with the boot. I had a new boot but the car was never the same again. My wife only told me 2 months ago how much she hated my Morris Minivan with its seats in the back. It may not have had much image but at the time it was cheap motoring. No would never buy another van.
  18. You can only advise your son then leave it up to him. My 22 year old son declined a 3 yr old Nissan Primera 44000 miles ( my car going at a give away price) for a beat up Ford Escort with 111000 miles. The problems with some of the older cars such as Vauxhall Astras, Novas and Escorts is that they are easy to steal. Perhaps some anti theft device would help. I would suggest any Toyota such as Carolla. A Nissan Micra would be cheap to run and insure but try selling the Micra idea to a youngster. They must have street cred! Even my student daughter hates the reliable Micra once owned by my wife.
  19. Tremendous idea Ian .This is what the Lexus web site is all about including improving your motoring comforts.
  20. I admire people for taking risks and having a go but I belong to the play safe category. The answer would be a definite NO.
  21. Sorry Man Untd are visiting St Marys Stadium for the big one. Vive les Saints.
  22. A little late with my reply. All the best Christina. I will remember you in between the heavy showers at Bracknell and looking after Ian's car. What dedication to the Lexus enterprise.
  23. Welcome to the club. I like the colour , you appear to have had a good deal.
  24. I would go for one of the metallic blues. Silver looks ok but there are so many silver cars around that a blue looks more up market.
  25. Being old enough to enjoy comfort I would go for the BMW 520i SE or wait for the new 5 series later this year.
