  1. I think a combination of more policing on the roads (who would be better at spotting a rubbish driver than a camera would!) and stricter standards for the driving test (as well as retesting) is the way forward. Cameras are principally there to generate revenue, and thats what they are best at.
  2. But it's got nothing on live TV- painted ladies anyone? :P
  3. Hahah let this be a lesson to anyone who tries to sell something wrongfully- mess with LOC and your inbox will be spammed! Quality thread lads :D
  4. Good spot! It all makes sense now!
  5. I'm 24 had no problems with lexus courtesy cars- I asked nicely and last time they even gave me a brand new RX300 (and yes, it was amazing fun- had ALL the toys!)
  6. hot off the press, it is not an is300, it is in fact..........wait for it.......................... an is500 quote "the car will feature a 5litre v8 boasting 400bhp. insiders say it is a bored out version of the 350bhp 4.6 unit designed for the bigger lexus ls next yesr. expext a sub-six-second 0-60mph sprint, with top speed limited to 155mph. Unveiled in production trim at the geneva motor show last month, the all-new IS will go on sale in the uk later this year. At launch, a 2.5 v6 petrol and 2.2 diesel will be the only models available. developement of the V8 is ongoing. so it will not appear until 2006. But lexus bosses are not resting on their laurels, as they also plan to produce a mighty 500bhp version of the LS powered by a V8 hybrid unit. This LS600h is said to offer super-saloon pace with the economy of a V6."-autoxpress issue853 edit-noted that the autoexpress pics feature licenceplate SXK 457 not SXK 455 as in the above pics, same circuit and disguises though ← Hmm sounds interesting- I don't know how believable it is though, as some have said that lexus don't want to produce an IS with a very big engine due to previous low sales- they won't make a IS350 but a 5 litre version?! Odd...
  7. Doesn't look like it - estates are the way forward apparently...... I'm beginning to think that after a good few lexus' I'm gonna have to check out a different brand due to lack of exciting models... ← Mazda anyone?
  8. Where are the child seats in the back? :S
  9. I looked up that P1 Club on the net. http://www.p1international.com/index.htm Looks very nice- I bet half the people that drive up and down the roads in flash new cars every few weeks are members of similar clubs. I wouldn't mind joining, although the membership fees are a bit more than what I pay at my snooker club (£5 a year). £2,500 joining fee and about £13,000 a year to drive for a few days. Nice
  10. In North Cyprus, members of the public can actually stop cars for traffic offences, and detain them untill a police officer comes along. The member of the public then relay the facts, and presto :D ← Technically that could be done here too couldn't it, as that essentially describes citizen's arrest (although if I am not mistaken you also need a witness) ← Scarface put me wrong here, but most "common" RT offences are still non-arrestable offences and therefore the "arrested" person could sue for damages against the member of the public who pinched them? What's the legal history of Joe Public pinching Mr Motorist for such things? ← What we need is Scarface's police ID badge thingy- that way we can intimidate and beat chavs up :D

  12. That's the biggest pile o ******* I;ve ever seen. You want a lambo... Heres a real murcialago. Not that big pile of lameness. I;ve driven this. http://www.flickr.com/photos/66228884@N00/.../in/set-209121/ http://www.flickr.com/photos/66228884@N00/.../in/set-209121/ http://http://www.flickr.com/photos/662288.../in/set-209121/ Will insert images as soon as I've uploaded em. That's the real deal , 6.2 l v12 Lamborghinie Murcialago. Bad Boy. ← Now that is a very nice ride in your pictures, but there may be a 'slight' price difference between the two cars...plus this one comes with a free tranny- bet you can't compete with that!
  13. So how did it go mate? Clutch still intact? :P
  14. Hahaha the wonders of being an owner of an 'elite' car (well for now anyway). I think you are all right in the sense that things WILL change, it happens with most brands. As time goes on the IS will become dirt cheap second hand, and of course there will be a handful of chavs hopping on the Lexus bandwagon. Hopefully we will be able to take em out with a sniper rifle before they get into their cars, but failing that we will just have to accept it and let them do their thing. Most people love the Lexus purely because it is seen as more luxury, and even the IS is considered luxury. But those that know about cars always say that at the end of the day it is just an expensive Toyota, and to that end there really isn't much you can say against that. True the IS is the entry level model, but ultimately it's a Lexus with all the quality, service and hallmarks, and that's what sets it apart from the competition (especially the crappy BMW dealer service etc).
  15. oh dear- mate I had the same problem, except mine is a manual so I literally just put the clutch down when the accelerator pedal got stuck. I think a few other people have mentioned this too and lexus sorted them out with new mats or something, although i think it depends on how old ur car is or something. Good thing you're ok and more importantly, so is ur IS300 :D
  16. No hahaha's required this time. only just managed to restrain my self in my state of juvenile over excitement and saved 4.95 in the process :winky: ← Good man- I also managed to restrain myself from buying one, and instead celebrated my saving by going down the pub :D
  17. Don't bother with eBuyer, they won't always honour their online prices even after taking your money (a legal and binding contract according to their T&C, still doesn't stop them breaking the contract and cancelling the order). www.ukdvdr.co.uk is a better bet. Cheap inks, too! ← I've been buying off em for years, and never had a problem
  18. Yeah these things are crap- I also fell for this a few months back and everyone laughed at me...save yourself before its too late! Oh wait, it is too late, so hahahahaha
  19. Thank *** for that- they have finally got the mp3 issue sorted. The interior looks pretty impressive, but i'm still a bit iffy about the outside. Maybe that will change once I get to see it properly.
  20. Guys, I think the new sound system supports MP3 playback- if you look at the right hand control knob on the head unit it says 'File' next to 'Tune'. Yay!
  21. You can also try www.ebuyer.co.uk for cheap CD's- well under a tenner for 100 cds (but remember postage cost)
  22. No idea, but I guess quite a lot- I had my head unit replaced under warranty a few weeks back, and the cost price for the unit was £980 or something crazy!
  23. Lexus are generally nice people, so you never know what they may do in response to help you out- the only thing you can do is give it a shot. If you are writing to Lexus UK, it may be an idea to enclose photocopies of any repair/warranty invoices or repair reports etc just so they have more tangiable proof of what you are saying, even if they can look it all up on computer. Good luck with it all, and I reckon if they don't do much, it's best to cut your losses and sell it and try again.
