  1. I have a vibrating noise coming from my rear speakers too, and I have taken it to lex and they said that its ok, and this has happened a number of times so I have no idea how to deal with it either
  2. Yeah, I look forward to it- it will sell in spades since so many people feel stuck without mp3/ipod connectivity
  3. How are the speed bumps treatin ya?
  4. I also noticed the electrical steering adjustment controls- nice touch, just like the higher end Lexus models
  5. Check this 360 view out guys, it gives a much better idea of what it looks like in the metal... http://geneva.cars.msn.co.uk/executive_and...layer_94-56.htm I don't know, but for some reason after seeing this I like it a little less than I did before, especially from the side.
  6. Hi mate, I am afraid I can't help you with the brake pad situation, but I did have a question about the carpet in the car. I have a 2002 IS Sport and the other day as I was driving along the mat got caught under the peddle, and the accelerator got held down, which was a bit dodgy! Is this a known fault or something? Are dealers replacing the mats for free? My one has clips on it too, but they must have unhooked from the carpet. Cheers Rav
  7. Cool- glad to have that cleared up. I usually leave the extra person behind/come back again to get em, so it looks like it will only be 4 women a pop for me B) Another good thing about the IS sport is that you cant have too many people in there anyway as it would just scrape along the ground (especially over speed bumps )
  8. See below for some interesting info on the spec from MSN cars: 'The all-new IS has adopted the GS 300 and GS 430 styling by featuring their grille, flared wheel arches and a sculpted bonnet. Wider and longer than its predecessor, the new IS has short front and rear overhangs providing a low center of gravity. Rear tail lights use LED lamp clusters and wrap round the rear corners. Inside, the door panels flow into the dashboard, and gear-shift paddles are integrated into a new steering wheel, allowing drivers to shift without changing grip on the wheel. With the increased length of the car, the rear legroom is increased significantly. The IS will get the most advanced navigation system available from Lexus, along with the Lexus Smart Keyless Entry, which allows entry and starting via a start button without needing to remove the key from your pocket or purse. Lexus will also launch its first diesel powertrain in the new IS. The 2.2-litre common-rail diesel will produce an impressive 295lb ft of torque (400Nm) at a low 2000rpm. Also available on the new IS will be a 2.5-litre V6 with Dual VVT-I which controls both intake and exhaust valves. Developing 204bhp, the V6 will be available with either a 6-speed manual transmission or a new 6-speed automatic transmission. There are plenty of new safety features in the new IS as well. Among the many acronyms are Vehicle Dynamics Integrated Management (VDIM) system, Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), Vehicle Stability Control (VSC), Pre-Crash Safety (PCS) system, Traction Control (TRC) and Electric Power Steering (EPS). There are ten airbags standard on the new IS.' PS- I'm putting my name down for the LF-A concept as soon as they decide to make it. I am hoping by then I will have a job and enough money to afford one
  9. For all of us current IS owners, I think we belong to an exclusive bunch once this new one comes out- our one will be THE true classic lexus :D
  10. For all of us current IS owners, I think we belong to an exclusive bunch once this new one comes out- our one will be THE true classic lexus :D
  11. I think that is what the speed is set to for the adaptive cruise control mate.
  12. Hello peeps, Was just wondering what the situation is when you have say 4 people sitting in the back of your car with only 3 seats- I read the bit on seatbelts posted in this section and it says: "More Passengers than Seat Belts The safest option is to only carry the same number of passengers as there are seat belts. If necessary, use two cars or make two journeys for the trip. If you must carry a passenger for whom there is no seat belt, it is better for the heaviest passengers to wear a seat belt, because they would cause more severe injuries to other people in the car if they are thrown about in a crash." Does this apply to having one too many passengers in the car too? If so, is it legal to carry an extra person in a car when there is no other practical option? PS- I am not a minicab driver, just hate it when at the end of a night out there are so many vulnerable (and fit) women who need a lift home and I have to pick only 4
  13. What on earth have they done with the rear lights? They bulge out in the video, thats so ugly! It's true, the point about the IS was its uniqueness, it has lost it's identity and become a poor man's GS
  14. They got rid of the classic look speedo! nooooooooo! that was so unique to the IS and now its been replaced by a bog standard instrument layout. Also, the centre console looks just like the one for the new honda accords that are around. The front looks nice and mean though, I like that bit, but the rest of it is pretty unremarkable, just like every other car out there.
  15. I will tell you what they need- a working CD system that plays MP3! Or atleast has aux inputs somewhere so that we can add other devices such as ipod etc.
  16. I think its going to be a mixed reception- everyone is used to the current design, which is a bit understated and classic, and the new one seems to be an amalgamation of different brands/models etc, as is the norm these days. I think the new one will be a bit of a marmite- you will either really like it or really not like it at all :D
  17. Hi mate, congratulations, she looks like a beauty! I am glad it is all sorted now. Wishing you many happy miles
  18. Hmm, just had a look at these infamous pics- if this is the real deal, then i am not particularly impressed. There are a few nice touches, but the overall design is a bit plain and boring in my opinion- the front end is nice but the back is a bit pathetic and a bit daewoo.
  19. Why do they have candle wicks on their head? I am sensing some serious mental health/family issues here
  20. Yeah they aren't using a manual gearbox Only in the 2.2D, but you won't hear it over the tractor noise. ← So true. But my friends, the new BMW 535 Diesel (sorry but you know me and BMW's), is a 3.5 litre Bi-turbo diesel, cruises at 70mph at under 2000rpm, and... u can't even hear the engine. ← Yes that may be true- but....it's a BMW
  21. Wow, talk about the most random topic change ever. If the authorities get a peek at this thread, they may get the wrong idea.....
  22. I heard from a relaible source (a gameplaying friend off xbox live) that theres gona be loads of snow this coming week, especially in london, so it should be fun.....bus anyone?
  23. * Lexus recently increased specification levels and prices for the outgoing IS. Generous discounts are available to soften the blow, but buyers should realise that the new car's arrival will dent the current model's residual values. NOOOOOOOOOO! OK I know it is expected but still depressing when you read it
