  1. without wanting to sound harsh, ive been to many accidents where people have been catapulted through the windcreen, kids, dads, mums you name it they have all been through one and all because they didnt wear a seatbelt. I personally think any device which annoys you so much that you are forced to put your seatbelt on cant be a bad thing can it. lets face it you wouldnt buy a car that has no airbags, abs ets nowadays would you and yet you would drive around without the single most important piece of safety equipment available !! Madness imho
  2. it makes you wonder what else you can do to these modern cars like disabling the reversing beep on the is200 now that is annoying.
  3. updated with 2 pics so you can make your own mind up whether its the effect your looking for or not http://www.lexusownersclub.co.uk/forum/upl...9_58_186927.jpg http://www.lexusownersclub.co.uk/forum/upl...9_58_448749.jpg
  4. just wondering what the plastic part attached to the front grille does, ive taken it off whilst i modify my grille but i cant really see a point to it. is it supposed to restrict airflow or something and would it make any difference to performance etc if it was left off !!! if not then ill just put it back on :)
  5. iam a goldie although looking at my access and no sig next to my name you wouldnt think so. add to that the fact that my dealer doesnt do gold dicount oh well at least i rule wrx on the arcade :P

  10. tell your parents how dangerous is it over here at the moment and that you wouldnt feel safe in anyhting other than a HUMMER ! :D
  11. just thought i would update this old thread. it rained allday today on the farm so in order to amuse myself I removed the front grille off my is200 and took into the kitchen. I used my nitromors car paint stripper to remove the grey paint and all thats left is the beautiful chrome underneath. i was careful with the stripper at first but after a while i realised that its pretty chrome friendly and it didnt affect it at all. it took a fair few coats to get rid of the paint but i found i could leave the stripper on for 10 mins or more without any adverse effects. afterwards i removed the left overs with a blunt knife to get into the corners. I did in fact leave the grey paint inside the holes on the grille to make the chrome stand out more. the whole job took around 4 hours so if you fancy a go at least you now know what to use to remove the paint. why they ever painted over the chrome in the first place is still a mystery to me !! by the way mines a 3 bar grille not the older 4 bar one, dunnno if it matters though reading earlier posts
  12. I recently fitted the metasystem sr2 rear sensors, they fit either side of you number plate and are attached to a surround, once fitted to the car the number plate fits back into the suround. there not bad at detecting objects behind, i wouldnt say they were as good as bumper fitted sensors but on the other hand i couldnt bring myself to drill 4 holes in the back of mine so in that respect their a decent alternative. mine cost £58 off ebay :D all depends how much you want to spend i suppose
  13. mines £350 ish but im 33 yrs old so im no real help sorry, but welcome anyway :D i would rather be 19yrs old aswell !!!
  14. well just look at what happened in bosnia with the serbs only a few years ago. hundreds of thousands dead and missing and that was in a place where we used to go visit on holiday !!!! *** must be upstairs wondering how he :tsktsk: bigtime when he created us.
  15. i like the gold ones but im worried about someone screwdriving them off and selling them on ebay for £64.95 ( only kidding ) ive got chrome ones on as standard but the gold ones would look good mine being a green is200
  16. oh dear your straight onto minus 1 point already and we havent even started yet only kidding
  17. i think its a good idea, much better than how many posts you can rack up, it should lead to better quality posts not that they are good at present but you know what i mean. trouble is my head is full of useless information so im gonna lose out bigtime :duh:
  18. some years ago we were getting astra nicked at a rate of about 1 a day from a car park so we set an operation and our technical dept wired up an astra so that when the baddies jumped in the car all the doors locked and the horn sounded. it was funny as f**k watching them winding down the windows just as the police dog jumped through it into the front seat. true justice is a german shepherd who hasnt had his dinner
  19. you missed a very important one out We used to pick our noses and our heads never did cave in did they !!!!!!!!
  20. theres a beauty on ebay 20hrs left ls400 75000 miles and full lexus history. dont know what reserve is mind but worth a look
  21. nice one apart from the breaking bits ill give it a go in the morning
  22. i dont want to damage anything so im asking is there a specific way to remove the gearshift gaiter and surround so i can get a look at the bits i need down below. thanks
  23. as the others have said, this is definately not a common problem and if the tyres were only fitted a few weeks ago then its most likely their at fault. if worst comed to the worst get some new tyres such as sp9000`s or the bridgestone potenzas or similar that are designed for the is200. look in the search field and you will find threads relating to which tyres to get where from and how much
