  1. Hate to correct you Ian but the red top 3S GE has less power than the black top (which is in the Altezza) - the black top has dual VVTI whereas the red top only has single.
  2. It's blatantly wrong, though - The Aztec should be a lot closer to the top of the list
  3. I quite fancy the Z1010 but they are a little slow to come to market
  4. Yup, I'm testing against Mainframe and Oracle.
  5. That's fightin' talk boy!! Shame I haven't done anything to my car in the mean time otherwise I'd be well up for it.
  6. make sure you get it done well - red is the easiest colour to spot repairs on. Respraying the door should cost between 1 and 200 quid - I know because the garage I took mine to for an MOT scratched it on 4 panels down the side.... man am I not pleased - esp as they deny it
  7. Mazda used to have Xedos but they didn't sell too well....
  8. the way I figure it is that if I drain the tank as much as I dare then there is less opportunity for the muck to accumulate, and when I swap from regular to Super the octane rating doesn't take quite such a knock :winky:
  9. most I've ever managed was 58 litres, but the car was cutting out for the last half mile. Could make for an interesting MOT in a couple of weeks.
  10. why ever not? my local Lexus garage raves about the car - saying they wish the IS was this fast... There are plent of independants who'll service it too, I've not had a problem.... Afterall it's just an evolution of a Corolla engine...
  11. Wheel balancing tends to have it's greatest affect around 60 mph - might be worth getting yours checked
  12. Should last for at least a couple of months, then you stop thinking about it... so if you make yourself think abou the car again you start grinning again - it's great

    New Sva Law

the new rule is that they are closing the loopholes so every car manufactured since 1997 has to go through the whole test - emissions and crash worthiness being the ones of note. Crash worthiness can be proven with a model report, but which ever car you bring in has to be in the same spec as the original one tested e.g. auto/manual. It's a bit of a swine.
  14. I asked about upgrading my immobiliser and was told that the car would have to be in all day...
  15. Sounds like you're sorted, then!
  16. not sure how practical it is for road driving - the torque curve is all but non existant!
  17. OK, definitely interested, when are you going to put the order in/are they likely to arrive?
  18. think you might struggle - the G35 is on an extended version of the 350Z platform, but the big issue will be the model report - you need one of these to get through the eSVA test. Just contemplating a Legacy GTB myself (and you can get these)
  19. hmm, could be persuaded. How and who will we pay?
  20. not sure about this V Pro spec - the regular outputs are 207 ps at 7200 and peak torque is 6400 - so the V pro is significantly different....
  21. VVT smooths the power delivery through the whole rev range - the second push is as the second set of valves reach their ideal operating range, but it only happens at about 5k - about 4.5k the exhaust note changes and at about 5.5 is where you can really feel the car sharting to shift. peak torque is 6400 rpm and the redline is 7900.
  22. or try Novatech or meshcomputers.co.uk (I think)
  23. 2006, though, Steve - that's the next model - all our info just says they won't release it in the current shape.... doesn't it?
  24. I was about to ask the same question... well that and how much would the strengthening cost?
