  1. The advise I've been given in the past is if you are going to leave your car for a long time (30days +) is disconnect battery and get it charged and then store. I've left my car parked on the street for 2 weeks without any problems.
  2. We've already had this lesson! Check below: http://teamlexus.co.uk/html/modules.php?se...=view_photo.php I believe the instructors name was Andy.:bounce:
  3. What colour IS and where? Could it have been me?:saint:
  4. What color should I use for Granite Sky? Black or Silver?
  5. That is not an excuse! As a Londoner who parks his car on the street, you can imagine the state of my 2.5 year old alloys! They were however replaced under warranty due to corrosion. It might be that the dealership does not want to go through the hassle, as far as money is concerned, they would be paid by Lexus GB for the labour charged to get the wheels changed, it might not be immediate though. I would ask to speak to the service manager and see what he has to say. If no joy, then contact Lexus GB customer services.
  6. Did you remember to ask for the cards?
  7. on the reply page just above 'post reply' click on the browse button to attach file.:D
  8. To check if the motion sensors are activated, open your sunroof, then activate the alarm. Now stick your hand through the sunroof and wave around. Or you can try djanderso's method!:D
  9. As far as I know, double locking is automatically activated when you use the remote fob to lock the car. The only way I can think of single locking the car is if you use the door lock on the driver's console to lock the doors, get out by manually releasing the lock on your door and then turning the key in your door. Pressing the key fob once or twice does not make a diffence. The 5 flashes you get if you click the fob twice is just an indication that the car was armed within the last few moments. This is all from memory having FULLY read the manual almost 2.5 years ago (sad isn't it). Double locking basically means when activated, if you smash the windows you will still not be able to relaese the locks and open the door, I don't know about the boot
  10. The front aggresive look, front wheel arches and the auto headlights. I've also been enjoying the exhaust note produced by my Peco BB4 exhaust.
  11. I agree with trevorx, particularly if you are buying one that is 3yrs old or the warranty is about to end. Just make sure the dealer has dealt with any paint chips. Also on the Service History check to see if shocks, brake discs, and alloy wheels have been changed if it is a 99, 2000 model.
  12. Andy, I think Steve is taking about using the SatNav's monitor to view the output from a DVD player. So you would still need a seperate DVD player. Depending on the LCD monitor used by Lexus, the mod might work for both DVD and CD based SatNav systems.
  13. Yep, I intend to keep mine at least till the new IS200 comes out in 2005. By then I should have had the SC and any other mods done. I am very happy with it now.
  14. ButlerBoy, Welcome to the club! The only major mod I've done to my 1999 SE is recently changed the exhaust to a PECO BB4 exhaust and I love the new note. I'm sure others would come along and give their advise. In the meantime, you could use the search button in the menu above to search for other threads that might have covered this.
  15. Welcome to the Club, and hope you enjoy the new car when it arrives. Running In Engine: It takes up to 5000 miles (8000KM) for the engine to fully loosen up. You are normally advised to keep the revs below 4500RPM for the 1st 1000miles or so. It's all in the manual. Just drive the car as normal without any harsh acceleration.
  16. Welcome to the club, and hope you enjoy the IS300 when it arrives. Playa, Hang in there, your days of waiting are almost over. Mind you when it arrives, you'll still have some more waiting while the engine runs in.
  17. I've only had to sign a form once for a test drive, and that was at a Merc dealer for an A class!
  18. Don't forget this cover is 3rd party only when driving another car, if you have an accident, they would not repair the car you were driving (unless this is a courtesy car from an approved repairer while you car is being repaired). This means if you drive a lexus courtesy, and they don't have insurance that covers you (eg as Chris has said), then you could have to pay for car repairs if you had an accident. I'm sure Lexus dealers would have a policy that covers you b4 offering courtesy cars. Chris, is this the same case with people who are offered test drives?
  19. Welcome to the club Dean and nice car. I like the number plate as well. I hope you will find this site very helpful. Shola
  20. R75, As Rodders suggested, I think you should test drive the GS series, coming from the Rover 75, this would probably be a better choice than the IS series, also as the GS series has been around much longer, you would have much less problems, though I am not sure of the paint on them. In any case test drive both the IS and GS and see what you fancy. As has been mentioned by others the IS series from 2002 have most of the teeting problems sorted apart from paint. Let us know what you go for.
  21. I guess another reason why you should go GOLD! As they say, you'd be nuts not to. Me goes and have a look for the FULL SP.
  22. If the light does come on again, it would definately be worth having it checked out fully, afterall your safety is more important than losing a few hours of driving pleasure in the Lexus ( I know how hard that is). I remember the case of a 3 month old Merc whose airbag inflated during normal driving! Luckly the driver was not hurt.
  23. I haven't, instead of a Mini Disc changer why not go for an MP3 player? See what one of our members has to say, click www.grangey.demon.co.uk/dension You get more playing time. I'm quite happy with 6 CDs
