  1. Sorry to hear about your problems Tony I installed CCTV when mine was attacked, run a 2 point camera system with night vision into a video recorder and a time index video for future ref. Cheap but effective though, no one been near the car since Hope you get this sorted out mate BR Paul
  2. Hi, I used to run standard 16" MK II Alloys with 225/55 tyres on mine, now have 18" with 255/40 tyres Mine is lowered so only have a slight rub during full lock of the steering. Just need to make sure that when you fitt the new wheels and tyres, you make sure the over-all size will not mess up your speedo - Tyre Size Calculater will determin if the speedo will be out by much or not, always best if theres alot of speed cameras around I also try to get within 1% of the speedo readings BR Paul
  3. Maybe worth checking the solinods and the wiring inside the G/B, if you have access to some ramps, easy enough for you to do but requires you going into the G/B by draining all the fuild and removing the sump. I had to do this a while back - Picc below shows the wiring and solinods ( top centre) that maybe the fault

  9. Hi and Welcome to the club Andy, Look forward to more piccs of your lady, BR Paul
  10. Just had a look at the wiring for the Interior Lighting System, there is an Integration Relay in the drivers side kick well along with a Gauge fuse that protects this relay, and also a relay block with a dome fuse under the bonett in the fuse box. However I'm not sure if this would apply to the MK II Dave but worth ago mate
  11. If I remember correctly, the fuse for the Interior Lights also runs the radio, clock etc.... and it's under the bonett behind the battery. When I fitted my expander, I needed to make an aerial plug for mine, there aren't any aerial plugs in these as norm, any good auto elecy would be able to make this for you. It's a normal aerial socket one end and 2 cables the other - earth and signal. Just need to make sure you sheild the signal cable or you'll get noise through the aerial
  12. A ) 4 B ) 4 C ) 4 D ) 3 E ) 3 Hope these help in your research Good Luck
  13. It's odd that ALL the door switches would have failed, will have a look at the wiring diags tomorrow and may find out if there a weakness within the circuit. What you could try and do is remove the door catch (mark the postion before hand though) and short out the wire on the bodywork, if it's down to the switch, this will switch on the lights, if not - it's not due to the door switches
  14. The switch is part of the lock on the pillars, not cheap to replace but you can always try to seperate the switches, Are all the interior lights not working or just the odd one ?? you could be looking at a fuse
  15. I was surpried with mine, I went through Chaucer (broker), details show A-Plan as the insurer - only £597 for me, max NCB and 35 years young, also have my wife on the insurance who is epaletic When I first got the car, £800 with the same company, have been with Chaucer now for about 3 years Now have the second run-about with them aswell, cheap as chips

  17. Happy Birthday Aido All the best mate
  18. By the sounds of things, what with the clock resetting when you start the car, I'd say you've got a few fuses that have blown. The main power switches during the starting phase and the fuse for the backup on the clock may have gone. The rough running may be due to a dirty spark plug or lose connections, you may also have a few earthing probs if there's been water damage, easy enough to sort out though.
  19. Sorry to hear about your unhappy dealings Maybe worth while (if you've not already looked into this) having an RAC inspection done or something similar to find out exactly whats a problem now and could become one later, you may find that the lemon is not as bad as it appears Getting parts will not be a problem, most motorist centre's will have or be able to obtain the required parts needed Servicing will not be an issue either, I have my import serviced by a normal garage, will also be advisable to go in and ask rather than ringing, you can see from the expression if they are not sure about servicing an import. Hopefully this will help you, by having you the inspection, it may save you money if the car is not really worth having the money thrown away for servicing/repairs BR Paul
