  1. 37mpg tank to tank averaged over the last 3 months. I've not done many long trips recently until yesterday and now the car 'puter is showing a bit higher, over 41mpg over 150 miles ish. Thanks for asking.
  2. A good write up that Ian, plenty of useful snippets so thanks for that. I'm not up on the Beemers but after checking the 530e spec's, would a more direct comparison be the GS 450H? - especially regards performance. I can't say that I'm impressed with having to plug in the 530e. Forcing a battery regen via the IC seems to suck too, it's seamless in the Lexus. Can the Beemer's brake regen not keep the battery topped up? Although that's kinda unfair as the Lexus will automatically use the engine to charge the traction battery.
  3. Isn't the issue with the MOT that you would be changing the purpose of the lights e.g. fog lamps (if you took that option). If a car has a feature like fogs with the lamp and stalk/dash control, then they have to work as intended. Adding to the indicator is a practical work around if your indicator lenses are clear, which looks like quite a neat solution to me.
  4. Good to know Chris, thanks. The more eagle eyed observers will note that my pic was from the LS with the boot key on the RHS. I couldn't find a pic of the key on the GS 450H, note to self; must try harder...
  5. Really, it's on the left hand/nearside of my boot lid. It wasn't initially obvious it's there as it's thoroughly covered in black goo.
  6. I thought it did (says so in my e-copy of the manual), like this; Reference; https://www.clublexus.com/forums/ls-4th-gen-2007-2017/519045-emergency-trunk-opening-procedure.html
  7. Excellent news, well done mr AA man. Interesting point about no power to the 12v battery, isn't there a key option to access the boot? - slopes off to Google...
  8. Doh, how annoying. While you're waiting you could take a look at the switch
  9. Sometimes the switch plunger sits on a plastic stop that can occasionally work loose. Have you recently found any odd bits of plastic in the drivers footwell?
  10. This has just started happening right? Take a look at the switch on the brake pedal, maybe it needs adjusting? They often have a lock nut and can be wound out a turn or two before nipping the lock nut back up. Or to check if the switch is faulty, try unplugging it and see if the brake lights go out. Will be interested to hear what the issue is and how it's resolved. Good luck.
  11. How odd that only higher models of the NX have the mirror tilt function. Hey ho, it is what it is.
  12. Exciting day picking up a new car and starting to get familiar with all the new 'features'. What colour/spec did you get? To dip the rear mirror try selecting either the Left of Right side mirror with the...selector switch. Then when you hit reverse the selected mirror should dip. If that doesn't work then you may have to hit reverse, manually dip the mirror and then hit the seat setting button. Meanwhile enjoy your new steed.
  13. Welcome to the forum and Lexus ownership. What colour, spec have you purchased?
  14. Someone is getting a very fine steed and I'm glad it'll be staying on the forum. So Rob, how are you getting on with your baby friendly machine?
  15. Yes I agree, the pickup is earlier and feels more natural. What I also noticed is that the brakes are sharper in PWR. So much so, that I've needed to relearn when and how much pressure is needed. I guess the Hybrid brakes are 'keener' in the higher power settings...I defo see more 'E' blocks on the Energy menu.
  16. I'm impressed that you stumped up for anew box, that shows true dedication.
  17. Well done finding a low mileage example and hopefully the damage is limited to just the panels. She's cleaned up pretty well tho [emoji106] It's good to see someone getting properly 'stuck in' to a job. Will be interested to see how the car develops. Good luck.
  18. Welcome to the forum Rob. Having a former Lexus technician around should prove handy. Well done finding a low mileage IS, will be looking forward to seeing how it develops.
  19. They look much better, well done. It's surprising how yellow older bulbs look.
  20. Hey Mark, your car looks great and it seems they did a good job for you [emoji106] Although it's a shame the car is now covered in gawd knows what [emoji852]️

    TPMS

So you ignored the low pressure warning last year, it went off again in the spring and you didn't have any issues, right? Did you physically check the tyre pressures last year or after the light recently came on? Surely that's the obvious thing to do? It could just need a few psi adding and you should be checking them regularly for safety anyway. My GS has a second TPMS button that's intended for a second set of wheels, maybe winters. It's hidden away under the passenger dash if I recall correctly.
