  1. Under your seat, is one of the cables yellow? I suspect it is as it's for the air bags.
  2. I always found the Golf boot small, especially when compared to my old Civic - that gobbled up everything and more. The lack of a spare wheel was a winner for daily lugging duties. Fortunately we never missed the spare. Anyhoo it's good to hear how the NX compares to others as my Mrs may be on the hunt for a replacement soon.
  3. Spooky but mrsF and I have just compared the CT boot size to her mk5 Golf and the CT is larger. I had the CT as a loaner and didn't find it any smaller inside than our V-dub. I'd say it was on par but we didn't have the CT for long.
  4. I would hope so too, time will tell but I reckon that you're on to another winner. Enjoy
  5. Welcome to the forum Steve and the land of Lexus ownership. I recently made the jump from a Honda and haven't looked back, although the Civic was a good all rounder. The 2.4 Accord is known to be fairly thirsty, did it have much more torque than the 2.0? Enjoy the hybrid drive and get some pictures online for us if you can.
  6. @rayaans, because dealers seem to always over charge. Having previously refurb'd my own alloys, I'll happily pay someone to do it in the future. Within reason ofcourse ;)
  7. Well done replacing the shocks and brakes, unfortunate that you found all the parts once the job was completed tho #doh Did the footbrake shoes and adjuster give you any trouble? Was the adjuster easy to free off each side?
  8. Sorry to hear about your caliper, if I were you I would definitely look into a refurb/exchange.
  9. Good to hear that you rate BCS. Although a bit bright (for me) the colour works quite well on your car. Good choice.
  10. Doh, I've clipped mine a couple of times and have repeatedly beat myself silly with a thorny stick! I haven't clipped a curb for a while now, tho this comment is likely to change that The repair estimate from Lexus is surprising, keep us posted.
  11. If you get the vehicle services elsewhere the hybrid check & warranty can be done separately via the dealer for around £70. The check/warranty can be taken on a car up to 10 years old.
  12. May is quiet, bug free and usually good weather pop there ;) As others have said, it's well worth a visit.
  13. Welcome to the forum David. That's becoming quite a desirable car these days, so well done getting one imported. Have you imported any cars before? Did you use one of the import company's who source cars on your behalf?
  14. Over the 6 months+ I've owned the car the sat nav has always orientated the map to the North. It took me a while to adjust but I've since learned the live with it. My previous car had the setting as 'heading up', which made more sense to us. Last weekend mrsF stops gawping out of the window and starts moaning about the sat nav orientation. You know the sort of thing, 'thats no good', 'I can't understand where we are' or 'which way to go?', etc, etc. I shrug, drive on and tune out...as normal Then she simply presses the North symbol (top left) and boom the display now shows 'heading up'! I'm kinda embarrassed that I hadn't already tried that myself. Worse still, mrsF now thinks she's a tech whiz!...and she won't let me forget it #sigh She forgets that the true 'tech whiz' crown is still owned by our almost 4 year old grand daughter. Maybe this post will save you the pain that could be saved by *ahem* prodding it. PS: who reads manuals anyway
  15. You can have the Hybrid system checked and warranty for another 12 months without servicing at a Lexus dealer, up to vehicle age of 10 years (130k miles?). Lexus offer the check/warranty for approx £70.
  16. Looks like I should rethink painting the calipers with no pads/disc's in place then. Or at least take precautions!
  17. Doh, how annoying. Try your local auto factor, they can usually get parts delivered the next day. They should also be able to tell you the correct part.
  18. I imagine turning the adjuster a click or two will either free up or lock up the brake disk. That'll be a good hint. But I take your point and will try to look it up later.
  19. For reference
  20. This is a well timed query as also I'm planning to get all my brakes refreshed soon. The rear brakes have the handbrake nestled inside the disk bells, using shoes #oldskool Which I've not come across before. But it seems you just line up the bell access hole with the shoes adjuster and knock it off to release the disk.
