Not one for sale on AT. Must be that good everyone is keeping hold of them. A rare beast indeed

There was one for sale on Autotrader about two months ago. The advert said it was one of only 16 in the UK so, if that's true, it explains the rarity.

17 were registered in the UK, 2 are currently SORN. For comparison, 54 GSF's have been registered, there are 34 registered La Ferraris and 18 registered Aston Martin Lagondas, so  a very rare beast indeed. Aston martin DB5 is positively common in comparison with over 200 registered!

I have seen one in the Flesh driving round my home town of Shrewsbury so they do exist. My wife didn't know why I was so exited, I'm very sad at times!!!

That answers why none around then. And I thought my ISF was rare!

ISF 214 registered, 5 SORN.

If you want a truly rare Lexus you have to own an LFA (3 registered) or RX 200T s (2 registered)

The reason the sales didn't go so well for GS460 is obvious- 450h was available. It was cheaper, packed with exciting new technology way ahead of it's time, significantly better mpg etc..

Personally i don't see a problem, plenty of LS460 available with same engine :p

Hi Mel. The GS460 and the LS460 share the same 1UR engine but I was interested to learn they aren't quite the same.

A V8 GS with 375 bhp would have been very nice and lighter than the LS but the GS had a little less power at 342 bhp. I bet it still gets to 60 in around 5 seconds.

There was a black one for sale by Boss motor company about 3 months ago for £12600 I think it was, with around 80,000 miles on it.

Spotted whilst reading another thread, these people seem to have one - http://www.mosesgatecarsales.co.uk/used-cars?type=Car&make=LEXUS&model=GS+460&MinPrice=&MaxPrice=

... along with four GS430's

Hehe, I looked at that GS 460 earlier Mike...is SOLD

Quite a high price for the age.

      Evening folks,
After many years of German cars I am new here. Very taken by the GS as a value for money alternative to the usual suspects. Just looking for a nice comfy cruiser.
I have decided on a Lexus GS and as you know the 450h is probably the most prevalent.
Before I make the leap and buy a 450h I wondered if there are any members on here with the (rare) GS460 8-speed? I've been looking out for one but none have come up for sale, unsurprisingly.
I liked the car but not a big fan of the CVT gearbox on the 450h and a bit more boot space would be nice.
There is a 450h SE-L (ACC, ML, Sunroof) out there at the moment which feels like a super deal to me, an early 08 plate so 186g CO2. 12 months Lexus warranty, under £8k.
I will have a search on the forum but if anyone can advise what the best iPod connectivity solution is, I'd be grateful. Looking to connect digitally and have navi screen access to files and folders rather than having to select on the iPod itself.
If there is a Lexus kit then great, I will see if I can order that from the dealership.
