  1. Past hour
  2. Unfortunately they all seem to be jumping on the bandwagon, getting together and ripping us off. After 5 hours - yes - 5 hours of frustrating searches I finally went with Hastings for one car ( 30% up on last yr and £600 excess instead of £200 ). Some wanted 70% and some were off the scale. NFU spent 40 mins arguing whether the H&S catback exhaust system was performance or cosmetic, then asked for a stupid premium - no thanks.
  3. Anyone found any reasonable Insurance company, I know they have all gone up alarming, But some seem to be taking the Pee! Cheers.
  4. Hi, also in an F-Sport, ran a 450h+ premium before this and the performance was marked (much improved) due to smaller wheels, less weight etc.. that one managed to capture a charge/range of 65 and i’d regularly get late 50’s to early 60’’s.. incredible really. However the F-Sport looks great so I’m sure i’ll manage😉.. As far as driving then I always kick off in EV and let it run out then over to HV. I genuinely can’t work out if there’s any really difference in selecting auto EV/HV as in most cases I’m setting off to distance etc. Because it’s just so cheap to charge I always select EV, no brainer.. 1.5p per mile versus 12p per on HV. Hence use the EV first.. Excellent that you have a years worth of free EV..!! That’s fantastic. I’m year 3 with my hive box and no issues to Speak of. Home charge for me always.. We’re also running a Toyota bZ (Fwd) and that doing really well.. tend to get 240ish mile per charge and it’s running at 3.9kWh which is excellent tbh. Just urban though and the odd trip. It’s so accurate that we’re only charging it once a month. It believe it or not that costs about £2.60..!! Honestly… can’t make it up can you?
  5. Only one key sounds like a “ snatch back “ from failed finance maybe Hope you’re happy with this car’s history 🤔 Do tell ……… Malc
  6. I am proud to say that I am a soon to be a Lexus IS 300h 2017 owner! Very happy with the car I saw. However, one thing I dislike is the small 7" screen and the infotainment display Been researching alternatives and came across various positive reviews for Chinese Displays from Ali Express. My car is a 2017 Lexus IS 300h with the smaller display. I have the dial version (not joystick) - see attached picture. I am looking for a good spec display <£500. I came across a couple but would appreciate feedback on which to get: Option 1, Option 2, Option 3, Or any other better options? For those who went with the process of replacing it how easy was it? I am afraid to dissemble my new car! Is there a video guide that will be applicable to me?
  7. No. I’m afraid it’s a trip to the dealers and a few hundred quid for a second key. I hope you negotiated a good price and discount on the car to account for this and only having one key!
  8. I would just double on what Lucas said - don't bother updating the maps, they are basically either entirely obsolete (as is the whole system), or simply just obsolete. Realistically if you have maps from 2007 or as said DVD version likely has 2018 as the last available map, you are still 6 years off. Main roads rarely change, so M1 will be where M1 is, and M25 is still there and so on, both 2007 and 2018 version will be fine, but where you really need sat-nav in the city, to get to your destination, even in 6 years there will be loads of changes to the point where 2018 maps become unusable. On top of that DVD version without full post-code search was, in my opinion, unusable to begin with. Now I appreciate that with current ridiculous focus on punishing the drivers for anything and everything... phone mount may not be something you want to use (even if still technically completely legal), in which case full replacement android unit would be my choice, could be used as stand alone, or for android auto/crapple carplay... and even cheapest unit for ~£150 will be much better than anything that ever came from Lexus. ~£300 should get best unit on the market, but there is plenty of threads and research on what you should get on the forum. Sure - that will require some know how to fit, but any AV shop that does car stereo should be able to fit them.

  10. ive been having issues with starting my soarer, itll turn over and sometimes start for a moment then quickly die out. it also sometimes seems to backfire through the intake causing a racket when trying to start. after awhile of trying to start it, as it warms up more it runs better and longer. and once its warmed up itll start and the turn of a key every time, and itll run fine (appart from sounding uneven at a certain set of revolutions) ive had the ecu redone to try and solve the issue but it hasnt fixed it, and ive replaced the engine temp sensor. i belive that maybe its being caused by multiple smaller issues causing it to freak out making it a matter of maintenance, but im here to see if anyone has any advice incase theres anything in specific that could cause it. the dignostics said the issue was the engine temp sensor, weve replaced it but theres a chance that maybe the ecu doesnt like the aftermarket sensor. the check engine light is still on, but i havent tried clearing the fault since the ecu was refurbished. its had this issue since i bought it, and ive just never had the time to get round to working on it till now. incase its needed, this is a 1994 toyota soarer jzz31, 2jz-ge na, automatic trans. thanks for any advice, and if theres any questions obviously just ask. im not used to using the forums so if theres any issues feel free to contact @_west_autos on instagram
  11. Perhaps having the 10 year Relax Warranty might help ? Malc
  12. The compressor on my wife’s RX300 is incredibly noisy. I made some enquiries at the time and came to the conclusion that we should live with it and on hot days use sparingly. It had a re gas at an independent a few years ago and has been functioning OK ever since. When my RX 450h was in for the plugs and service at Lexus Coventry I was told: ‘A/C HP pipe leaking’ and quoted £620 for replacement. £170 for parts, £450 for labour. I asked how the Technician could tell it was leaking, had he pressure checked, etc. and also asked for the old pipe to be returned afterwards. This was once booked in but before I had taken it in. Then started the odd request to bring it in earlier, leave it with them, there might be bolts that had seized, etc. I suspected there would be ‘another issue’ once it/was with them some cancelled. I took it to an independent again and had it re-gassed for £66. It’s been fine for weeks. Bear in mind that a re gas is more than a top up. They empty the system, check it will hold a vacuum, then fill it. Mine held the vacuum so although there could have been a small leak that led to the gas leaving over years before I bought it, it’s probably minuscule. Some might say that the technician observed the A/C wasn’t working and assumed the most likely cause, which generates work for the dealer. I used Lexus Coventry years ago when Tom was there and always had good service but this recent episode left me feeling suspicious and frankly I don’t rate the Service Manager there now.
  13. The Relax warranty is, unfortunately, dependant upon following the service schedule recommended in the service handbook as that is the manufacturer recommendation. Any dealer telling you otherwise is talking rubbish and should be asked for proof of their claims. There's no way a lexus dealer would do an oil change and tell you your car is fully warranted for another 12 months, at least not in the T's & C's contained within the wording of the Relax Warranty (google is your friend). I stopped paying the service plan when they shortened it from 3 to 2 years but charged the same price...daylight robbery to fund their hiked labour rates a few years ago. At 3 years it was good value. Not any longer, especially since the breakdown assist was removed fro the deal (so I was told by the service team).
  14. Dear Ian (IGROK) I cannot thank you enough. This solution (minimising audio notifications) has resolved my connection problems. So much appreciated. Femi
  15. I am very upset with the treatment I get when asking questions about my new car. They even hung up on me. Gas mileage isn’t what they said on a hybrid, and no spare tire. What a shame!
  16. So no update from Lexus, no communication on why a recall has been issued, confusion reigns.....
  17. Heard nothing more. Bought a disklok as another additional measure anyway.
  18. That seems odd, my NX shows the same on the car and in the App. The App shows the per trip information, which should read the same as the 'after start' reading at the end of each journey .... Maybe you are looking at the overall figure?
  19. LV is now live, I’ve just done mine swapping from current car to the LBX to collect it on Tuesday.
  20. No They would have to ask you in the first instance and then if agreed with yourself Fit the plate.. That is standard practice and code of conduct..They would Never Ever not mention it.!!!
  21. Hi All, My LC 500 is due for a service and MOT on the 14th June and I suspect may need a number or replacement tyres. The car is a 2017 registered model with 19750 miles. Presently, I have on the front, Bridgestone Potenza’s. 245/40 RF21 96Y and rear also Bridgestone’s Potenza 275/35/RF21 99Y. Could the group let me know what's the best tyre now to replace these with. I have read that some owners favour the Non-Run Flats but that would preclude me purchasing some sort of tyre repair kit. The run flats I have are noisy and a hard ride so would appreciate your thoughts. Thanks All, Cheers Tony Bournemouth.
  22. Highly unlikely but I have no definitive knowledge that allows me to state this. Welcome to Lexus world. I hope you enjoy your new car as much as I enjoy mine.
  23. Better audio from CDs - no compression!
  24. Honestly a simple single or twin relay immobiliser that requires a fob or a touch key to get the car running is all we need. That’s effectively what is fitted on mine as part of the tracker install. No fob, no start. Tin plates that I would imagine just need crowbarring off or hunting down another canbus access point, clever software systems that will suddenly become hackable months later - I think Lexus are missing a trick by not simply bunging a cheap immobiliser onto every at risk car. No point just some of us doing it, every single car in the country has to be protected to stop thieves wrecking peoples bumpers on the off chance a car is still stealable. They could have fitted thousands of cars with immobilisers by now.
