The biggy for me was the change to pension pots being included in estates for the purpose of inheritance tax from 2027. Good news for the offspring as gifting just got turbocharged 😉
-
You are on the wrong tack. The family member(s) owns the stock of the LTD company. Upon their death the stock passes to their heirs. They will suffer inheritance tax on that assuming the value exceeds the current threshold. I know what you are getting at. Put the business into a LTD company that offers some income tax protection ,but that has nothing to do with inheritance tax. That will still apply in the usual way.

Returning / rejecting a Lexus Select car
PeterI replied to Mikey B's topic in Lexus General Discussions
I can say that Lexus Woodford (at the Hainault workshop) have a body shop and I'm 99% sure Jemca have a body shop down at Croydon (Lexus insurance offered that as option). Hainault did the repair on mine after someone crashed into my gate which hit the rear of the car and I thought the colour match was good. -

CD Player for 2023 UX
Bezzer replied to Chris leathwood's topic in Lexus UX250h / UX300h / UX300e Club
Easiest way is to copy your CD's to a USB memory stick(s) then use that/them. If you somehow connected a CD player you would still be playing it through the car's system so there would be little if any sound difference and the USB route is much tidier and easier. I've done it that way, used a 32gb stick to burn loads of CD's, couldn't say how many you could actually fit onto the one 32gb which is the system limit according to the nav manual. -

12 volt battery
Herbie replied to Alan Salisbury's topic in Lexus LBX Owners Club - The All-New Lexus LBX
Look, once and for all, it's not a Lexus (or other manufacturer) problem, it's a matter of simple physics, and no matter how much you may want to, not even you can defeat the laws of physics. Small batteries don't hold charge for long. Larger batteries hold charge for longer. Lexus made a decision a long time ago to use small batteries and it really is as simple as that. They could change their rationale and make future cars with bigger batteries but (a) I very much doubt they will, and (b) that wouldn't help the owners of thousands of cars driving around now. -
I would have no idea what a good respray costs these days ☹️

A question for other LC500 owners re wind noise
lloydweb replied to Paul29bit's topic in Lexus LC500 / LC500h Club
Could it possibly be the wing mirrors? Mine seemed to do it very occasionally, but not for sometime now. Maybe fold them in, if it's safe, and see if anything changes. Long shot but might be worth ruling them out. -

Well done Don. The usual problem is getting something that physically fits in the battery box and has the terminals the right way round. I take it that the one on the right is the original at 35Ah and you've upgraded to 45Ah? If so, that gives you an extra 5.92 days (from 20.83 days @35Ah to 26.75 days @45Ah) before it goes flat if not used or charged - caveats further up this thread still apply though. How I wish we could get something with an absolute minimum of 75Ah or better still, 100Ah. Sadly, nothing like that will ever fit in the battery box of my RX so I've got my trusty jump start battery pack in the car at all times. -
I don't have a problem with rust because I rather not look.

For me it is not my first hybrid, or EV, so it really it isn't a generic hybrid problem. If other manufacturers can sort it; if after market upgrades can sort it; then it is a Lexus problem and they will only listen if people make a noise. I know some of you will argue that you shouldn’t have to do it but I fitted an upgraded battery on my mate’s LBX today. You don’t have to do it, it’s up to you but you can see the capacity is well up. It’s under the back seat, took me about 20 minutes and it cost just over £71 with a 5 year warranty. -

Yes, agree we can stop discussing because that brings no new information to the table. My two cents in respect to your question of buying decision. It's still a nice driving car but I would be hesitant for buying the LBX if I knew upfront. Most propably would have a closer look to hybrid cars which already have a solution for this "feature". But again it would be a minus on my wife's and my checklist which we used before buying. -
But the Ls460 does appear to be supremely expensively problematical for many owners August 2023 I had the itch to buy another big car and explored the Ls600 offerings and nearly bought an import as they are supremely good cars on balance …….. BUT it seemed to me that whatever I did it would never be free of some Japanese hieroglyphics, buttons whatever remaining ……. so I just abandoned that thought and luckily discovered my 91 J reg Ls400 from a Member here …….. replicates my first one from some 26 years ago, colour and all 😄 So I now have it and it’s wonderful but with bodywork niggles and blemishes but then she is 33 years and 101k miles young ……. and of course drives impeccably On balance I’m sure you’ll enjoy a Ls 👍 Malc

Hi Malcolm, yes I have been binging on his videos. He is a real fountain of knowledge. I’ve heard that the 400/430 is bulletproof but they are quite scarce over here. In comparison a lot of the 460/600 were sold in 2007/2008. I’ve read they are the more problematic alright but I suppose how problematic they are is the question. The air suspension scares me a bit especially at that age. I’d imagine wear and tear on bushes shouldn’t be too much of an issue at that mileage even though it is old and rubber does perish. My dad took a Landcruiser 100 series to 526,000 miles and it’s still going with its new owner. I always picture the 100 series and the LS as the pinnacle of Japanese engineering.
