Cold Air Intake/induction Options

are there any kits out there for the IS200. i know there is the TDi carbon fibre one and the pipercross one - which i bought and fitted the other day (got it cheap). had a look at some past threads on this and yes it does look like a sponge cake! i have to say though i do like the noise, has turned a few heads when u reach the magic 4500rpm, car seems more responsive but the engine looks like poop! and after reading about all the heat probs i figure the pipercross aint gonna do its job properly even tho i love the sound.

i may even have a pop at making my own, should be interesting as i dont know a lot about cars at all, few empty coke bottles and double sided sticky tape with a hair net as a filter?????!!!!!

By the looks of it the original intake has been hacked to direct cold air straight onto the mushroom thang.just like a K+N 57i where you get a bendy pipe to direct airflow from the front of the car to the cone filter.

It's not the original intake hacked. It's the same inlet as used on the IS300. And as you say, it directs the air to the left towards the filter...

Actually this filter also has an optional heat shield available as well.

Best let Alex come up with the price for them. :)
