As part of the new forum implementation, we have turned on Quick Reply.

At the bottom of each post, you now have two reply options.

New Reply

This is the standard reply function, that we have been using for ages.

Clicking new reply will launch a new page, complete with smileys, BB Code buttons etc - exactly the same as normal.

Quick Reply

This is a new reply funtion.

Clicking Quick Reply simply opens a reply text box under the post.

A new page is not launched.

The BB code buttons and clickable smilies are not shown (although there is an option to display the smiley window)

Which reply method you use, is a matter of personal choice.

However - if you are on a slow (dial up) connection, are planning a post without links and images etc, or are confident in manually entering the BB code - then you may find that the quick reply will help.

definately a good tool!! I use it all the time now, and do on some other boards that have it too.

Well worth it - and if it saves on bandwidth too (fewer pages being loaded) then it's even better!!!

Can you get a consensus from the membership as to exactly which colour each of those buttons should be?

seems no-one likes the colours I choose

if you are going to add colours, make the whole phrase coloured, not just the bit after NEW.
