Is200 The Dreaded Rust

Recommended Posts

:excl:My black IS200 auto (V - Sept 1999 & 90000 miles) has a small clump of rust bubbles appearing above the windscreen (edge of roof) on the passenger side.

The main man from Lexus had a good look and pronounced that it was due to when the windscreen had been changed (not during my ownership) and they had been ham fisted with the "cheese cutter" that they use to break the bonding on the old windscreen. :excl:

Anyone else come across this problem?

I had stone chips that rusted on the front of the roof. Lexus said this wasn't covered under warranty and quoted £726 to respray the whole roof :o

I got a back street place to paint just the front of the roof for £125 but I suspect they took the car for a spin and caught a kerb cause the car was handling a bit odd soon after. Cost to repair damaged suspension was £1000. The back street place has disappeared.

The wheel hub that lexus fitted was faulty so I had to go back and get it replaced 3 or 4 times.

The stone chips are rusting again. :shutit: This time I've just used rust stop stuff and touch up paint.

Don't talk to me about stone chips :(:crybaby:
