Replacing Spoiler On Is200 Sport

Has anyone removed the is200 sport spoiler and replaced it with an after market one?

I know it leaves holes etc (3 i think) but these can surely be filled in right? is there anything else that might prevent me from doing this, or is it just too much hassle to carry out this mod. on the is200 sport.

Thanks

The only issue i can think of would be that unless you connected the new spoilers brake light (if it has one) in the exact same place and manner as the standard one, you would have a bulb out warning light on on the dash permanently.

There is a circuit board or something that adds the LED brake light in the spoiler to the bulb out warning circuit.

The other option is to figure out where that is, and remove it.

Cheers, I think i just get one without a brake light. Someone said the spoiler was actually glued on or something to that effect, aswell as bolted on. Is this true?

I think that would be correct. Body shops use like a strong silicone glue specialy for spoilers and on my last car which was a BMW that was bolted on and glued. Was a bugger to get off so if its the same - be careful.

yes the original spoiler is bonded on !!

and not easy to remove at all

the light failure unit is replaced by another unit from lexus, allowing for the high level lamp to be removed, and no warning lamps to light

as for where it is : left hand of the boot space, behind the side cover :)

Does this mean the thin lip spoiler will be appearing in the "For Sale" forum on on eBay?

IS200 Sport (import without spoiler)

lol....

Don't know yet, but it seems a lot of hassle to get myself a nice spoiler, esp. if the damn thing is bonded on!!!

Don't want to make the car look like a right mess.

Kinda rules that one out then!

Pretty sure there aren't any plt ice IS's with a high level spoiler on in the club!

Stu

Yeah, aren't that common.....

but ideally you want a plat ice without a spoiler , do the swap then put your high level spoiler on
