Toyo Proxes T1-r

Just got quoted £79 per corner for a set of Toyo Proxes T1-R (Z rated) in 215/45/17 (as standard on the IS200).

Is this a decent price.....i'm thinking it is!?!?

The price is for the tyre only....no fitting, valve or balancing.

anybody know how much a garage is likely to charge me to fit and balance all 4 tyres?

Also, are the T1-R's a good tyre to choose (good grip, life etc)?

cheers

:winky:

Just had a look at my last invoice for my tyres mate and it was 15 quid for fitting and balanceing plus vat, but that was up north may be a bit more expensive down here

yea, thats still reasonable though......won't break the bank!!

I can highly recommend these tyres as i am currently running these. however mine werent as cheap :(

Grip compared the dunlops in the wet is more than noticable, its takes a lot to upset them, grip in the dry is even better, no idea about snow was on hols at the time so cant comment.

Both the Eagle F1 GSD3 (which I have) and the Toyo T1-R are great tyres of the IS200. Both are probably as good as each other, just get whichever of the two is available to you at the best price. :D

alright, cheers for the input matey.

are both these tyres gonna be better than the Bridgestone potenza's that i'm currently running (they're geeting low on tread and hence i'm shopping around for replacements :) )

i have found the bridgestones to be a little lively in the wet :duh:

cheers

i got toyo's last dec after nearly 2 years on bridgestones and 23k after 12k the toyo are far more worn than the bridge stones were, and the wheel protector on the toyo is crap. i never got one scrap on the wheel with the bridgestone even when it sounded like it should have

when u say wheel protector, is this the flange protector u refer to (i.e the 'overhang' from the tyre)??

but in terms of road handling, and grip, is there much difference??

yes it's the flange/the over hang.

handling i would say ive noticed no difference, but ive have said slightly less grip unless i'm driving it harder now ive had it for a few years?

hmm, i was always under the impression that the proxes and eagle F1's were two of the best tyres on the market?!

guess i'll have to hold out to hear any other comments/past experiences with them.

just thought the price was very competitive aswell!!

Had the Goodyear Eagle F1's fitted at STS in Watford, excellent tyre, the amount of grip amazed me after I had run them in. Had no trouble at all in the snow.

The only problem I had was a nail in the center of the tyre, but as I had taken out insurance when I bought them, STS in burton replaced the tyre for free.

On a cosmetic note the tyre tread looks sweet.

I've had Toyos T1-R and T1-S when I had my IS200 and I personally think the grip with them was excellent but sadly they don't seem to last long.

I'd reccomend them but I wouldnt expect them to last as long as other tyres.

believe it or not that price was from motor world :o :o

dunno if it was some sort of special offer???

mind you, got quoted really good prices on:

Goodyear Eagle F1's (GSD3) - £81 - fitted/balanced

Dunlop SP9000 - £71 - fitted/balanced

Bridgestone Potenza RE040 - £78 - fitted/balanced

Yokohama Parada - £83 - fitted/balanced

These were quoted to me by a chap from Nottingham Car 4 wheel Allignment, last week (when they did a fab job on my geometry :D :D )

if you want their contact details, just send me a pm :D
