Err 3 On Cd Unit

I have a Lexus IS200SE (2000 model) with the standard Radio / CD autochanger system which is built in.

I have recently been getting "ERR3" when trying to operate the system, and of course everything is locked up.

I have spoken to my local dealership, and they tell me that there is no other choice but to replace the system, but there again they would say that wouldnt they!!

Can anyone tell mke what "ERR 3" refers to, ie specific fault?

Is there anyone out there that repairs these systems, as that would be the preferable option?

Is there an aftermarket replacement available that would do the job ?

I have the same Error 3 condition and the url link above returns an error:

"Sorry, but we did not find any matches to display."!

The error appeared after inserting CD 5 into the changer. I had previously been using 4 cd's only. Now the unit will not play any cd's. Any ideas?

Will I have to remove the cd changer to fix this issue? or can you "cold boot" the cd changer to fix this problem?

I have stripped down my head unit and found a broken part on mine. I would be willing to help anyone strip there's down on the off chance its just a jammed cd although you would have to come to me
