sounds like a bargain,

as for the needles , there just a fault on mk1 gs's after a certain age by the looks and thats if your unlucky with it, both my speedo and tacho were dead when i got the car, and my temp has gone also.

right needles.

forget lexus, you cant buy needles seperatly, there 300£ ish for 2 needles and a back plate (the bit with the mph on),you can send your cluster away to get repaired, again expensive (place in usa)

Steve

or do what i did source another cluster for a gs300 i bought one off eBay for 50£ got all working needles and a spare set,

Pics please!

Will get pics on when cleaned it up and serviced it.

Was looking at the paperwork and it looks like it has not been serviced since 160,000 miles now on 206,000 miles.

Well the other morning it refused to start so i looked at all the electrics... the 1 plug i took out looked ok but the rotor arm had seen better days, the contact end was umm... well not much left of it ! having taken off the plastic cover to check plug i looked at the timing belt, it was half the width it should have been, was all frayed on the side that was missing.

So.... i dont think it has seen any servicing for some milage !!

What sort of a job is removing throttle body to change centre 2 plugs and changing timing belt ??

cheers

There is a 'How to' piece on the GS300 plug replacement saga which explains what the process is.

Can't remember if it is in the Forum Archives.

If my memory serves me it was taken from a Supra site.

Someone will be along with a link soon I am sure.

Thankyou kindly for doing that mate

Lovely car mate... those windows are soooooooo dark B)

The tint believe it or not is medium (23%) all round, really sets the car off nice :)

P.S. wheels did not come with it, i bought them new... had standard ones on

Hi

Are they the original Sport wheels or the later 17" versions.

Nice car, bet that s the best £800 you will ever spend.

On the tints did you have the 23% all round.

I have a dark blue GS Sport and just can't decide on extent of tint and colour of tint.

Hi Keith

No not original sport alloys, the 17's as you say, bit cheaper ! lol

yes 23% allround, its my favorite tint really, id have either 23% or 35% on your colour car really...

Well... i have got some 18" sport alloys now from a scrap yard up north, 2 of the tyres need attention though both flat

Worth getting them checked for balance etc as they have a habit of twisting especially if they have been kerbed or previous owner has regularly driven up kerb.
