Binding Calipers = Stupid Fuel Consumption?

My right rear caliper and front left caliper are binding. I didn't realise how badly until I went to get my alignment checked and two guys at the garage could barely move the car while it was on the ramp. Since the front caliper started binding, fuel consumption has absolutely plummeted, and I mean almost single figures. Fair enough, that's town driving in a heavy auto car, but it was never this bad - could it be because of the calipers? Cheers

Driving around with your brakes on would probably put the fuel consumption up a little :D

Your car is driving under load all the time while your brakes are binding

Try and get the brakes fitted ASAP.

Its extra wear and tear on the transmission and Engine and will cause parts to overheat with time.You could also warp your brake discs and boil the brake fluid.

And Chips, I hadn't really thought about what you mentioned - makes it seem even worse now!!
