Rotten Egg Smell

Recommended Posts

Hmm, that's odd.

Have you checked there isn't anything cooking on the exhaust or the engine? I've heard of odd occasions where rodents have nested under the bonnet :o

I've had mice, but all they've done is nibble rubber and foam bits under the bonnet.

IanB :D

Yep...if your pussy is shagged, or if you've removed the aforesaid feline, the engine will fuel rich at low revs, the eggy smell eminating as a result of the unburned hydrocarbon being expelled.

how you go about cleaning the fuel injectors?

i wont say i owned a vectra, just borrowed it for a short time...anyway that stunk of egg for a little while, Gave it a damn good thrashing (safely without breaking the speed limit you understand :winky: ) during the drive it did get very strong then cleared up. I put it down to blocked cat...have also heard of this to sort out emmisions.

Forte is a very good fuel system/injector cleaner (if you can find it)...if not STP injector cleaner is good (STP black bottle)
