Even though I have never met you in person, are you feeling alright?!! :P

There were two power runs carried out with a couple of hp difference between them. The manufacturer claim the kit will push to in the region of 305HP and they have both A/T and M/T in the states.... I have had the CAT removed too, so the power achieved adds up. :whistling:

I have some info regarding the auto-box that I researched, will try find it. The main thing is that it has been achieved here in the UK, the car is complete, is back on the road and it gives fellow IS300 owners an insight of what could be achieved if they consider the supercharger kit themselves. :D

Fact is the IS300 auto gearbox is not capable of an accurate dyno as it can't be held in a particular gear to enable accurate readings to be taken.

Manual is300 no problem...........pre 98 Soop no prob auto IS300 no way

IS300 auto will not work end of............. ok, whatever you say

I'll also say that driven with any sort of ooooopmhh your car will go pop soon as you need more fuel and uprated rods/pistons as the 2jz-fe is like the 1jz-ge in rod/piston configuration. It is running 7-8 psi which is safe and even you have stated that in this club.

GTE with toyota means uprated rods (H shaped and proper low compression ratio pistons) FE means fuel economy so hign compression for fuel economy......adding boost will fook this up.............

I did tell you this when you were deciding wether to go for turbo or s/c a while ago. I was still waiting on the proposed supercharger info you were going to obtain from Lysolm and the completed IS200 utilising a Lysholm charger, it was all talk and no results.

Can you publish the AFR ratios you are running ? The car has been tuned by a very affluent tuner from the Toyota industry.

For what its worth the installation on your car could well have been done by Steptoe & Son. The air filter location is a joke as is the ecu location...but hey ho you pays your money & you take your choice.

The location of the air filter and ecu location has nothing to do with the fitter as its supplied from Vortech like that and there is always room for improvement. Have you ever completed a turboed or supercharged IS300 that was put back on the road 100% complete? NO

I hope you enjoy many miles of trouble free motoring but will say to any IS300 owners looking to follow you to undertake vigorous due diligence before parting with any money I am sure i will.

Why can you not congratulate/support members? Is it because your S/C IS300 went tits up you have to try and put down what I have achieved. You do not know everything and there are sources that know alot more than you with particular reference to the IS300.

I am sure we will meet one day.

Just seen this.

"My" IS300 project stopped because the customer could not pay his bill........... period.

The Lysholm IS200 s/c project is in a weird in as much as the customer has paid for the s/c which is at Glossop waiting for the customer to contact me to continue the install. No car no install and its his property not mine so all i do is send emails to the guy and wait for him to drop his car off....I can't even give him his money back as I cant get his bank details....there you go.

I stand by what I say about the standard of finish of your conversion when I say it at the WIM open day. My comments made publically is what members who know about conversions etc also said when we looked at it. Compare it to Dave Reads car............no contest.

I also stand by the comments made on the fact that you cant get a acurate dyno reading from an IS300 auto

I also say you should check you AFR ratios as the fuelling on your car is, in all prabability, not correct and very soon you will be looking for a new 2JZ-GE unit if you drive the car agressively.

By no manner of means do I state anywhere I know everything about the IS300 or any other matter. I do however try to steer customers in the right direction based on my own limited knowledge and not soley by looking for a sale.

My principle grievance with what you are saying is someone naive enough may take what you are saying at face value............do what you have done and end up with a engine/gearbox blow up.

My comments give them the chance to seek other opinions and make a judgement based on that.

If I had a bottom less pit of money and could have been without my car for a considerable amount of time I would not have considered the supercharger or a turbo kit I would have gone straight to a 2jz-gte conversion just like the monster!

If you and your so called knowledgeable members were so concerned about the "superchager kit" installed to my IS300, why did you fail to raise your concerns with me in person at the WIM open day? We are all members of the "Lexus Owners Club" are we not?????

But you chose to hide behind a computer and make your comments through a forum, PATHETIC!

Dave Reads car, Little Monster. Is that the IS200 that was worked upon by TDi-plc the company that you are always slagging off?!

As far I am concerned your IS300 conversion was never completed, as I recall earlier on this year it was you who confirmed to me that I would be the 1st person in the UK to supercharge an IS300, so why the change of heart all of a sudden? Let me answer that, its because I didn't choose to go with you for my conversion, thats why!

ok a few points....

poppycock...

the 2jz blocks are identical, only difference is oil squirters on the gte block for under the piston skirts, so you have been basing your ideas on misinformation,...not evidence

(only real reason to change to a GTE ENGINE, is everything is there for a swap...oil tappings for oil feed and drain, and the pistons are already Low compression that are installed)

considering this was an out of the box conversion, there really isnt more you can do, its bolt on...simple as that, only thing i would change is the air filter location, but Roop knows thats my view

dave, i dont see why you should have a grievance with Roop, or his car.This may be the first supercharged is300 in the Uk using this supercharger, but it is not the only one been done, there have been many more of these kits fitted to is300's in the US, also fitted to the gs300, and the sc300,...i would say on that evidence, the kit, is not the bag of nails your trying to insinuate...and without fact

..you have had issues with a previous customers car, which as far as i am aware, is not resolved...are people to Judge your business on the outcome of that .......

based on the fact that Roops car is working fine, he is happy with it, its not your position to drag his efforts or the efforts of a good company down, for no reason...based on no factual evidence

true, the is300, and gs300...etc etc, cannot hold a gear to obtain an accurate reading

I'll also say that driven with any sort of ooooopmhh your car will go pop soon

and why is that, its running a piggyback ecu designed to run with the is300, on this car with the matched supercharger

as the 2jz-fe is like the 1jz-ge in rod/piston configuration.

all engines use the same rod/piston configuration, ...well ...ok, not Rotary engines (what has the 2jz-fe got to do with it...?)

fishtits....GTE does not mean uprated H rods, and low compression pistons

G wide angle valve head

T Turbocharged

and

2 being the block generation

JZ Engine family

as a side not the is200 being 1G-FE is...

1 Block generation

G Engine family

F Narrow valve head

E Electronic fuel injection

so technically you could re-designate a Supercharged is200 engine as

1g-FZE

and roops engine would be re-designated a

2JZ- GZE....

Z being the designator for Supercharged.... :winky:

  1. The first numeric characters specify the engine block's generation
  2. The next one or two letters specify the engine family
  3. The suffix (separated by a dash) specifies the features of the engine:

the is300 engine in std form is a GE

the rods on the 2JZ engines are identical, however the rods on the VVTI GTE engines are, indeed thinner!!.... both GTE and GE use the same crank, bearings only big difference is the pistons, and the fact the gte block is fitted with oil squirters to cool the underside of the piston skirt.

adding boost hasnt fooked up all the other hundreds of boosted GE...engines

i agree, ....is300 owners should consider the company that has done Roops car, That company, was the authorised fitting agent in Europe for the Supercharger , and as they have a Registered Business premises, you can visit and see other cars to compare the work on, the proof is in the pudding.!!

Dave, i think you have been utterly unfair is your comments, ........is this sour grapes because he didnt come to you, this is how it is coming across, shielded by loose tech talk and inaccurate facts

if you are going to post, stating FACT and EVIDENCE ensure it is FACT and EVIDENCE!!!,

The air filter thing is a bit of a non-issue. Rup has already said earlier in this thread that he knows it's not in an ideal location, but he just went with the out-of-the-box kit for warranty reasons and simplicity. There's plenty of opportunity for him later to move it to a better place. As it is, the beast goes rather well even with the filter in the "wrong" place ! :D

If the weather holds out I will be fitting my gauges on Saturday, if it doesn't then I may use the in-laws garage but they don't know that yet :lol:

Its a been a while, as some of you now I have the 18" styling kit alloys but I fancied a change for the interim.

Below is a pic of The Beast back on its 19"s whilst the 18"s were re-furbed

I like them both Rup, but if I had to pick, the 19's would get my vote.

Hey Wozza, the 19"s were only put back on whilst the 18"s were being re-furbed. I have my eyes on another set of rims. The 19"s have to be spaced 6mm to clear the front calipers and the hub bolts are not long enough and don't want to change them until I have fitted my BBK and finally decided on my new rims.
