Neighbour Tapped My Gs..

well last night i just happened to be going down the stairs. i saw red lights through the misted glass and popped my head out of the living room window as i knew my gs was outside.

it was my next door neighbour and he was parking behind me (he has a Toyota avensis)

as he backed up i was thinking... stop.. stop... STOP!!!! i thought i heard a noise as if he tapped the car.

my gs did not move an inch and no alarm went off (if one was ment to go off who knows?)

he finished parking up and went to look at the back then went indoors. i tried to get out soon as i could, but by the time i did he was in his house. i couldnt see any damage and also this morning i checked and there was no damage...

what would you do?

part of me thinks a bottle of brake fluid, but what goes around comes around... his avensis is battered anyway...

Given that your neighbour went to look for damage (suggesting that he is pretty careful & considerate and recognises that he may have misjudged it), but didn’t find any, and nor did you when you inspected it both last night and this morning, what’s the problem?

I would mention matchsticks in they tyre valve and superglue the valve caps,

but that would be very naughty especially as no visible damage was done, and

things can get out of hand that way very quick.

In reality that particular game is worse for you bearing in mind the state of his car.

Much better off taking it out on the cat. :winky:

These cars are meant to withstand a front and rear impact of 5mph without any damage.

I'm sure it wasn't deliberate.

Technically he's left the scene of an accident without leaving details so he's actually broken the law. Regardless of damage or not he shouldn't have done it. If it was me I'd certainly be mentioning it next time I saw him.

If you had "Tapped" his car. Got out to look and saw no damage whatsoever What would you have done?

If because there was no damage at all and you had gone into your home, because whats the point of saying to somebody "Look I hit your car but nothing happened"

And the next morning your car had flat tyres or brake fluid over it How would you feel?

The guy has checked your car and no damage.

If there had of been damage how do you know he wouldn't have knocked on your door and admitted it?

Nothing happened so why make a big deal.

Honestly now, if any of us tapped a car in a Supermarket car park and there was NO damage who would hang about waiting for the owner to come out and say "Hey I'm the careless ***** that tapped your car but did no damage" "Just thought I would let you know"
