well i ordered some white 9 LED bulbs, similar to those in the link chris posted.

they arrived yesterday and i fitted them today and they are naff!!!

i think some didn't realise (me included) that the bulbs don't sit forward facing (i.e the 9 LED forward facing bulbs are useless as they don't generate enough light around the housing).

so think i need some tower type that have LED's on the side as well as forward facing....

@Trudi (lexus2D) you have 24 forward facing LED's don't u?? how do u find them??

i think people with clear fogs and red LED bulbs don't notice the difference in clarity as much as the red fills trhe housing more than the white through a red filter....

ahh well, i'll keep looking :crybaby:

Hi Trudi, i use them all the time as i have them wired to the brakes :whistling:

yea i vaguely remember but not well enough, lol

think i need this type:

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/2pcs-7440-7443-T20-1...1QQcmdZViewItem

item number 320235468815

they are the power LED type (i.e more intense and wide angle) - but they are a tad pricey....

hey up wozza mate.

they are actually both from the states.

i thought the same about the 1st having a more even spread, but the 2nd has wide angle LED bulbs and they are higher power by all accounts.

don't wanna pick the wrong one's.....

I have bought many other types of LED's from him before. Only ever had 1 bulb from him fail (recently a 501W white sidelight).

been umming and arghing over which to go for and think the best bet is the bottom set, as the LED's are a tad brighter by all accounts and the cut finish to them makes them wider radiating so should be ~360 degree coverage??

  • 2 weeks later...

well, the bulbs arrived today!! :D :D :D

i've only just got back home so not had chance to fit them and see how they look, but in terms of actual build quality etc, they look absoloutly fantastic!! in fact, i'm well impressed with the quality of them (just hope they are bright enough to shine some meaningful light through the rears fog lenses)

They have 11 wide angle, 1W LED bulbs which offer nearly a full 360 degree illumination window.

was going to upload a pic but photobucket is seriously peeving me off at the minute (keeps saying 100% upload but not actually uploading to the album  )

yes mate i did. need to get some pics/dimensions together and take it from there. been very busy though at the min mate but maybe this sunday i'll have some time??

think i'll be using a different approach to the one we talked about, but will give much the same effect but in the companies opinion (and i agree) it'll give a much more professional finish and won't require an invertor!! :whistling: :winky: :shifty:

will fit them this weekend wozza.

got the 2nd set i posted: the one's from warden that have 10 big sucker wide angle LED's on the tower and one on the top.

i do doubt they will be better than standard filament bulbs, but i'm hoping they will be good enough for what i need them for :whistling:

Ok, so fitted the bulbs and they are MUCH better than the other one's i had bought previously.

Very intense light output and 360 degree illumination.

They shine through the red lenses a treat.

A couple of pics below, but to appreciate the light output i'll have to get a couple of night photosL
