Firefox 3 Final Release Date Issued

Hi there, don't know how many of you guys and girls use Firefox rather than Uncle Bill's web browser, but the official version 3 is being released 17th June.

This is the proper version, not the occasionally flakey release candidates etc, Mozilla just issued a release to confirm this.

Anyone who wants a free, quicker, more secure and non-micros :tsktsk: t browser should check this out.

I tried the Trial version a month or so ago and i didsnt like it, but i suppose its a matter of getting used to it.

explorer 7 took most of the idea from firefox 2......

It may do, as with anything. But trust me, it is better!

firefox over IE anyday for me, although i use Safari at home on the mac, which is just as good.

I used the trial version and found that it does not like im video's so i decided that i would wait for a the completed version.

I used Fire fox two for some time with out problems but went back to ie7.

I also used saraha, because i have a Iphone, the saraha is qiuck at opening pages but that about all.

@Geoff - Based on that pic you put up, has anyone told you that you look a bit like Bill Gates....obviously you are much better looking version but their is a resembalance.

Los Angeles -Today the highly anticipated new version of the internet browser Firefox has finally released.

Firefox 3 (beta) is expected to set a Guinness World record for most downloads in 24 hours with over 5 million downloads, according to the Los Angeles Times.

However, to set the single day download record, Firefox will have a bit of work as it wasn’t available for download until 1:00pm EST.

Further hindering the lofty goal is the fact that some bloggers have reported an exceptionally long download time of the new browser.

With the release of version 3, Net Applications predicts that Firefox will have a 20 percent share of the internet browser market.

I downloaded it about 12 last night, worked first time.

Seems fine, only snag is that windows live mail dont seem to work and it switches back to the basic version of hotmail, I have cleared the cookies, how do I clear the cache?

LOVING the new zoom feature where it zooms into webpages properly (not just increasing text size). With a 22" monitor running at 1680 x 1050 this really helps! :)
