Porsche Question..

I also own a Porsche Boxster, but the tax disk holder is looking rather knackered, so i thought about putting a nice shiny stainless steel one in...

Here's the question: There is a wire coming from somewhere under the dash into the tax disk holder, does anyone know what this could be and can it be removed without wrecking something else on the car???

Yep, i know what this is for. It's connected to a sensor that tells DVLA youve not paid you TAX

A phone aerial makes sense, so thanks to the people who have helped and as to a light up tax disk holder not on a Porsche, not even on a Lexus.
