Ac Compressor

Hey guys lately my AC wasn't working so I took it into the shop and they told me that my Compressor had locked up. Do you guys know of any ways to fix this or where i can find a used/refurbished AC Compressor at a good price? They're charging me over $1500 to fix this. I can't afford that. Thanks for your help!

Yeah, I had the same problem with mine, but I managed to source a second hand one by going through the back of the exchange and mart and looking under japanese car breakers, there are a few, but one of them came up trumps!

Its a DENSO 10PA20C COMPRESSOR YOU REQUIRE..

I paid £180 for it and £50 for my local AC guy to fit it

I am going through the same problem with a locked up compressor on a 93 LS400. I am ordering parts through this company (http://www.auto-air-compressor.com/pace/). They have the compressor for $299. They will also convince you that you need to replace the condensor because when the compressor seizes it pumps metal filings throughout your a/c system that you cannot flush out. I am ordering a refurbished compressor, a new condensor, a receiver/drier and a filter to capture any remaining metal filings that will cause a new compressor to fail. These guys are located in Tampa Florida. It will still be quite expensive doing the work myself but it probably would cost you more then 1500 if your repairman replaced all these parts.
