If you just want to do the clocks matey, you need 3x501 Leds and 2xT5 Leds, try and find the inverted wide angle ones as there pretty good, i did mine ages ago now and never had any problems with them :)

hey thanks for the quick reply, is there anywhere you would recommend for buying them?

both look brilliant, think i will be ordering myself some leds now, the 2 t5's which ones do these replace, was having a look and there is about 20 different bulbs in the back,

Theres only 5 you need to change mate think there all blue holders looking at the back of the clocks the 3x501's are for the big centre dial and the 1xT5 is for the fuel gauge side and the other T5 is the rev counter side? The bulbs you need to swap have little orange rubber caps on them so you know which are the ones that need to be changed :D

& Mine

DSC03126.jpg

looks class, will have to order those leds as soon as i can,

To do what i did to mine and 2D's above mate you'll only need the 3x501 leds to get the rainbow effect or you could try different colour like Phil further up :D

Sounds like you have a nice motor mate and look forward to seeing how your modding comes on :D

Cheers, Aztecbandit. 1 of my blue LED dash bulbs has started flickering (think its just loose) but the light spread is crap so if im gonna open the dials again i'm gonna replace them all and was having trouble finding some decent led's. All bought now :D

Really need to change my photo - car doesn't really look like that anymore.

  • 1 month later...
has anyone changed the clock and a/c controls to blue aswell and also the ignition ring? what bulbs are needed to do these, planning on changing my headunit so figured while i am at it i will change the colour of the lights there.

The ignition ring is just a T5 bulb mate, but the A/C unit is a wee bit harder. Some have use a LED strip, but I couldn't get mine to fit right, so I butchered the LED holder and a T5 LED and wired it in that way. Its not that bright though so will be changing it shortly
