Lexus Exhaust?

Recommended Posts

Hi Mark

welcome to the club buddy!

:D

if you are thinking of a new exhaust - you should seriously consider becoming a gold member.

Its only £25 a year - and you can be pretty confident of saving more than that your exhaust by using one of the discounts available to gold members (does a TRD, L-Tuned or TOMS exhaust at cost price sound like something you would be interested in?)

I dont see how being a gold member would get me deals at wholesale.. Do you know of any other exhausts that are available that do well with the IS300? Also does anyone know of something affordable that can help my car alot performance wise? Please let me know I would love to hear about it...Thanks Mark

Getting the gold member discount is worthless, the little you save is nothing compared to the deal you can save on eBay....People on eBay sell them by $250 less then they are at the dealers who sell these exhausts...I would like to hear from any of you of any quick ways for better performance is possible, please let me know....mark

Like most people here, by having a GOLD membership, I've saved well over £300 this year already due to discounts...

Okay, I know where your coming from... but let me assure you, even though I had my doubts when I first joined this forum, now I've joined GOLD, I now understand why everyone reccomends it.

Firstly, I understand what you mean about E-bay, but lets be honest, you can't be sure of the quality of product you are buying, whereas, the Gold discount companies have been verified for quality and customer service.. and I don't think e-bay can save you 15% on servicing!

I joined Gold 2 months ago, and have already saved 155 quid on two purchases..

At 25 quid a year, you really can't complain, escpecially if your going to be spending 500-1000 quid on modifications..

Just my 2 cents.

sorry?

didn't I point out that as a gold member, you could get TRD / L-Tuned / TOMS parts at cost price?

Thats without any dealer markup?

The company is in the states - so shipping would not be a big deal for you.

But - anyway - none of this is helping with your question.

"Best" is a subjective question.

But lots of guys on here have HKS exhausts - try searching the forums for that?

Hey everyone, thanks for your responses it's greatly appreciated..I have looked at the HKS exhausts and they do look good but can get expensive..Do any of you know the differences in performance from lets say an exhaust that is $50-100 compared to one of the HKS? Is there any kind of graph out there that shows the differences of exhausts and performances comparism of our cars? I think its weird that 2 exhaust that look the same and are maybe jsut a tad different shouldnt be $500-800 more than another? Do you see where I'm coming from? Well anyhow, your input would be nice, talk toy ou all soon......Mark

first of all it's meant to be 430.237 USD. I converted it based on 0.52, instead it's 0.661. The Power Extreme sells here for $900-$1000 which equates to 595.740 USD to 661.927 USD. So im not coming up with prices from my head.

If you are looking to buy a new exhaust I advise you not to get one that is overly loud. The droning of an N1 exhaust is so annoying on the freeway. That's why i changed from my HKS hiper to Trust . But the Trust was designed for NA so it was too restictive for my turbo.

Set urslef a goal. If you would be adding a turbo later on, get a 3" exhaust. Don't waste money on an exhaust you will change later on, I've gone thru four :(

If you're staying NA don't get an exhaust that is too big..

As much as I would like a supercharger for this motor I dont think the wife would allow it...SO in your opinion what trust exhaust would be best if im not getting a turbo for it? I looked up on a web site by the way and it had that test 1 exhaust for like 350, I'm sure its not the same one as yours...I would love your input on which would be best...I want something with good sound and good performance but not overwhelming on the sound..Also how do you feel about the catalytic converter thats towards the exhaust, any reason for keeping this one? I know the car has 3 of them, why is this, would losing 1 of thenm hurt the car at all? I also would like to redo the entire exhaust, what size piping should i get if im not going to go turbo? Thanks for all your help, cant wait to hear from you....Mark

If you want to get more power and are not worried about the catalytic converters then you can get the toyomoto headers ($400) +15RWHP isheaders.gif Exhaust wise you can get the Blitz Nur Spec for $339 http://www.i-m-racing.com/blitnurspecr1.html I'm not sure on the CARB certification of these so you might have a problem with them since you're in California.

For those worried about noise, keep your eyes open for the HKS Silent Hi-power muffler

Depending on the application, piping size ranges from 60 to 95mm and utilize tips 94 to 120 mm tips.

Don't know if it will make it to these shores..

But here's some further reading...

Hey you guys, I wanted to ask if the cat nearest to the muffler is necessary? The car comes with 3 of them due to smog. Have you guys done any testing with or without this cat? Also, I would like to make a straight pipe all the way through and wanted to know what size pipe would be best for a non turbo car? Thanks Mark

no..the cats not needed its put there cos they had a job lot of cats at the lexus factory...........

if you wanna remove it .remove it, if your gonna make your own exhaust you should know the technical aspects of an exhaust.

if you dont

go to an exhaust specialist
