Current Cost Of A New Battery?

Recommended Posts

Hi All,

Looks like my IS200 needs a new Battery, best price I could find was £79.99 fully fitted. Is this the going rate? At this cost doesn't seem worth buying and fitting myself unless anyone has seen it cheaper?

Any recommendations appreciated?

Many thanks.

Dan

Cheers thanks for that, the website isn't working but found a similiar one for much cheaper here:

http://www.carparts4...f449d955

But the Battery terminals seem to be the wrong way round to my varta Battery?

Will this fit, is it easy to change the terminals around?

Cheers.

That is a good price for a good Battery.

It is your existing Battery that is wrong. The terminals should be against the bulkhead, your Battery has the terminals on the other way around so the whole Battery has been turned 180 degrees. Luckily there was enough slack in the cables (or enough clips were undone).

I am having a new Toyota\Denso Battery fitted by Toyota dealers this afternoon as that's what came in my IS3 and they quoted me £70 inc.VAT for just the Battery and £20 to fit. these should last another 10 years as thats what the original Battery had done and still works fine am only changing it due to age. worth trying Toyota dealers in your area..

Thanks guys for all your input, ended up going for the DIY route saving myself about £35 and also learnt something in the process. Battery came with 4 year warranty as well.

Simple job, I didn't know what I was doing but managed to sort it all in 20 minutes.

Recommended, nothing better to taking care of your lexus yourself!

Cheers.
