Without a doubt Andy is THE MAN, I have used him several times and he has come up trumps everytime. The latest is just this week for a simple bit of touch-up paint, he had to special order it but no problem, he then phones me to say it has arrived and that he will despatch it asap. First class service. Thanks Andy!

When I was advised my rear calipers had seized a couple of months ago, I recalled reading something here about it, and that it was a known issue usually sorted out by Lexus for free. I duly questioned my dealer (Croydon) who came back to me and agreed to do the work for free.

They were a little embarrassed when I questioned why I had had to ask as it was a known issue.

Would it not be worth asking??

As with DJP.

My originals were done on recall, then required redoing at 70000 miles.

I queried this with the dealer......I'll get back to you sir..........

When they did, they told me that Lexus would be footing the bill.....'this time'

Result, but as with DJP, why did I have to ask if it's a known problem?

Does anyone know where these calipers are seizing for example the caliper pins, the pistons?

Just curious to know as although my pins get a little tight between servicing I have never had one seize and the car is 18 years old.

i think its the pins siezing rather than the pistons, when car was mot'd it was picked up on uneven pressures,20% less pressure on the affected caliper at rear, front calipers dont seem to be affected.the difference is noticible as the car rolls on after breaking heavily now its been fixed. the car isa 2007,is220d se,[steve] you should be ok, i got leaking rear shocker to deal with now, which was not picked up on service but spotted when caliper changed yesterday, the dogs may bark but caravan rolls on eh!!!! lex loofah!
