Hi everyone,

There is a gold LS400 for sale in Cardiff. It is on Autotrader and Gumtree. It looks in very good nick and has fluctuated in price between £2500 and £3500.

I am on the east coast approx 190 miles from Cardiff so a little impractical to travel across to view it.

I was just wondering if anyone has been to see it and what you thought of it.

Thanks in advance.

Hi there I had already enquired about this one just for the fun of it, and the trader actually told me the cambelt wasn't done, but if someone paid the full price, he would get his garage to do it, thing is I don't trust traders when they say things like I'll get this done or that done just to sell a car.

Seem to be a lot of optimists advertising ls400 these days...OR, are the prices on the up...

Good examples seem to be getting more sought after and prices are following suit. On the downside more and more average cars are being advertised for daft money as a result.

I'm thinking that even an average car wouldn't probably take a huge amount of money to get to better than average and might be worth buying at some time ........ if heaven forbid I was to prematurely lose my Mk3 for some reason or other.

I guess it's all a question of having a really good indy who wouldn't rip one off.

When I was considering selling mine I had it advertised for @ £2k , 67k miles, history, wonderful condition...I did get three or four interested parties before talking myself out of it but now see several cars that SOUND like mine advertised for even more....but down south I guess...man maths now says I made the right decision as my car is an INVESTMENT haha

Thanks for the replies folks.

Yes it does seem a bit expensive but still surprised it has not gone. If I was nearer I would have been to have a gander even though gold is not my favourite colour.

Thanks again.

When buying these cars, I would only ever pay top money if it is in full working order and it has a very thorough service history (preferably Lexus dealer)

I have been reading from some enthusiasts about the value of LS400s being on the up and whilst I think they are amazing cars and far better than the German equivalents, I think it's unrealistic to expect these to increase in value.

But good ones and low mileage ones are certainly in good demand right now.

I recently purchased an LS430 which is over 10 years old but it's only got 44k miles on the clock - the previous and only owner used it mainly as a weekend car
