Went on it (southbound) today - AWESOME

took me 20 minutes to get from Cannock to the NEC

worth every penny of £2

Heard on the radio that the "A.A or the RAC" dont want motorists to break down on this road because

they will be charged accordingly as they are not exempt.

I haven't uploaded the OBi for a while Matt - but I didn't see any cameras.

I heard a rumour there may be specs hidden there somewhere - I'll see if I can find out

I think these roads are a great idea but can,t help wondering if they will become a rich mans road ,i mean how many tradesmen can afford the £10 a day it would cost to use ,thats £200 a month.

Just like the Dartford bridge,it should only have been chargeable for ten yrs........well that was up 3yrs ago?

I sorta agree with you Pete - but must admit to liking the idea of this one.

as long as there is a viable choice - then I don't see a problem with it.

Your choice is sit in awful stop-go-stop-go-stop-go traffic for an hour, or pay two pound and use a less congested road.

busy as the M6 some months down the line.

I agree with the theory behind it but not everyone can afford to pay it .What about people that go to work every day doing cleaning jobs and nurses,teachers etc the list go,s on ,why should they sit in traffic .It will become a road for the upperclass while all the rest of us sit in the traffic .As scorpion said let it pay for itself and then open it for free or at a lower cost

just watch the fact that until Saturday you can't join it from the M6 mate - take J12 and go down the A5 for a few miles - join it at Cannock

Its a private road,if the owners and their shareholders take a share of the revenue

created they will appear

Why? There's nothing there. I know - I was born there. (Apart from Wickies park of course...)

Watch out for the town's new-ish road "scheme" which is a bit of a mess and the council refuses to fix. Fortunately my parents have move out of town now.

Even though its private, any road that carries traffic is restricted by highway laws.

And if they dont think they will get enough revenue they can charge what they like

and change the toll charges whenever.
