Hi all,

Not having a 4x4 or SUV before, I've never had the problem of being unable to reach the roof before!

I also never use car washes due to the horrible things they do to paintwork and body trim.

Can I ask how you all get to those those hard to reach bits? I presume a brush is involved so any recommendations on where to get one that won't scratch would be appreciated!

Thanks,

Chris.

I usually use the local hand car wash as I also dont like the mechanical verieties. Failing that I have a soft window brush, the one where you can attach a hose to it.

May as well take it to the mechanical car wash as itll probably do the same amount of damage to the paint as you do with that brush!

As for reaching the roof - get a step ladder or a stool and climb upon it, simple really

Brushes scratch full stop. Use a soft brush on the wheels only.

I fondly imagine myself to be 5'7" tall so I have to stand on the front wheels just to clean the middle of the windscreen, never mind the roof! Use a step ladder for the roof and I don't think you should use a brush on a car, it will show up on the clear coat in the sun.
