  1. Don't think so - unless I missed something in the manual. :( (That's something else I don't have! Yesterday a beemer driver at work was talking to an is200 SE driver in my hearing pointedly saying "of 'course your lexus has got the leather seats hasn't it - really sets off the car doesn't it? not quite the same without leather seats is it? eh Chris? etc, etc" Humph!) 2. I've put a handful of cards (with the team lexus URL) on the windscreens of IS200s in Slough and Reading. Is anyone here because of them or am I wasting my time?! ;)
  3. Great choice isn't it? If you defend yourself you'll probably end up imprisoned for assault, the criminal will get off 'cause of lack of evidence and you'll end up paying them thousands in compensation! If you don't then your stuffed too. BTW around where I work in Slough there has been a spate of thefts from cars at traffic lights - ie someone opens a door and runs off with a laptop etc. I'm getting into the habbit of locking the doors while I drive now.
  4. masharp - it's a shame you couldn't get the flyer on it - they'd have found this thread interesting LOL
  5. it's sad but I was impressed by the handle being on the inside of the boot so that you don't get your hands dirty (it took me 6 weeks to work out what it was for though - I thought it was for access to change the fog light bulbs!)
  6. ahh - better pictures - eeerrmmm - I'm not so sure I like it now!!
  7. Hey - another M4 commuter - if you see me give me a wave - I do Reading to Slough and back (7.15-8.00 in the morning and 4.30-5.15 in the evening)
  8. It doesn't look too bad - a bit Jaguar-ish.
  9. Have you seen under the "IS200 Problems" thread some of us have the same problem with the IS200 except its just very occasionally - http://www.teamlexus.co.uk/forums/viewthread.php?tid=249 Keep on complaining...
  10. I've just had a problem with wheel alignment fixed by 4 new shocks, all under warranty - http://www.teamlexus.co.uk/forums/viewthread.php?tid=247 (There was another guy there when I arrived - he was busy telling the service manager all about his creaking seat.)
  11. My car was at the dealers today. They replaced the shock-absorbers because of a knocking sound and it's fixed the caster angles - the steering's fine now. In fact they had to replace all four as they've been re-designed since my car was produced (a Jan '00 S) - perhaps because of this very problem?! They re-did all the wheel alignments and washed it. The whole thing was done under warranty.
  12. Anyone else here commute towards London along the M4 in the morning? Last night I saw three IS200's on the way home between Slough and Reading. One silver, one aztec fire and one black/blue/graphite/dirt. If so...hi!
  13. A colleague once stood by my car furiously pressing every button on his key to unlock his IS200 but with no success - meanwhile his car stood behind him - boot open, lights flashing...:D
  14. I did think about diving in-front to make them stop so I could drag them from "my" car. I didn't think about using the same technique for getting a new member! Yes - if you could email me the flyer that would be great. I guess it would be good to get it into the downloads section too.
  15. I think if I made any styling change then I'd do the same - I've a platinum silver one too and I think the clear lights would enhance the overall silver/clear styling of the car.
  16. I really thought my car was being stolen at the weekend. I live in a street with terraced housing and had parked my car next to a neighbours MPV. I'd been out on foot and when I walked back along the street, still some way off my house, the lights on a silver car next to the MPV flashed twice - just like a lexus unlocking...then someone got in it... and it drove off towards me...then I saw that it really was a platinum silver IS200...then I saw it was dirty - phew - I'd washed mine that day. Doh! I'd parked behind the MPV - this IS200 was in-front. OK so it wasn't nicked but how common are IS200s getting!? Has anyone else ever got the wrong car? [Edited on 22-1-2002 by javadude]
  17. OK, another suggestion...normally I hate them and remove any added by dealers but... how about getting a sticker designed for our rear-windows...
  18. My IS200 S had 5 yokohamas on when I bought it at 18000 miles so I guess they'd been fitted as standard. I'm not sure about the yoko's performance in the wet - I've got pirelli P6000s on the front now and I think they're better but I won't really know til I've got them on the back. The yokos seemed to slip at the back, not the front. I've just replaced the fronts at 22000 - the rears had plenty of tread when I bought it so I'm guessing that the fronts lasted 22000 and the rears something like10-17000 and were replaced before I bought it. 19. know wot u mean - I pulled onto the motorway the other day pushing it hard through each gear and the ford focus behind stayed with me all the way. It surprised me so I looked at the figures - I guess it was a 2 litre - they do 0-60 in 9.2 sec. Yesterday I was following a Mondeo at the same place and I was struggling to keep up. Still, at least I can pass them when they break down. :D
  20. thats really funny - I've forwarded it to my boss who loves everything microsoft :D
  21. It is a fair comparison if you just want the bigger engine, not the enhanced trim. ie Go fast in discomfort!
  22. Yes I like the new red - i'm no fan of "Aztec Fire" - it looks like metallic brown to me. Sorry if anyone's got one!
  23. Hey brn7y, where do you work? Are you in the petrochem industry? I used to work for Lindsey Oil Refinery (Total/Fina) in North Lincolnshire. No free petrol though - except for senior managers. :(
