  1. Sounds like you had a great time, and well done LS 400 again, Rgds, Roger
  2. Hi Phil/Graham, the contact you want, who works for Paul Frost is Colin, on 07889 254699. There is not a lot they do not know about stripping apart LS 430 Lexus cars. Good luck, Roger
  3. Hi John that was last year, drove down through France, around Costa Blanca etc., then I drove back by myself across Spain to Santander then up. Did about 3000 trouble free, easy miles, temp was 37 degrees at some times. I see a Gota Fría is on the way this weekend so battern down with a bottle .......or 2 and enjoy your break, Roger
  4. Hi Kyle echo everything that has been said. There is an excellent Indy in the Northwest based in Darwin. His name is Paul Frost and trades on eBay as Lexussparesdirect. He looks after my LS430, but he has been recommended by other members also on here. Good luck, and don’t dismiss a good LS430, not £1000 per corner, speak with “Frosty” Rgds, Roger
  5. I always run my ls430 on Bp ultimate. My experience is that it definitely runs smoother, with better fuel consumption. I occasionally fill with normal for a couple of tanks, to compare, but when I switch back the difference is noticeable. That is my personal opinion
  6. Blimey they think of everthing, thankyou for swift response, Rgds, Roger
  7. Hi, does anybody know what the button on the above on a 2002 LS 430, with the word “off”and a picture of a car. I have gone through the manual and cannot find any reference to it, thank you, Roger
  8. This has all been covered before on this forum. The extended warranty is not the same as a new car warranty and does require the vehicle to be serviced by Lexus. It is all in the t & c’s.
  9. I run my LS 430 and my wife’s Honda 2.0 Petrol engine on BP Ultimate and sometimes Shell V Power and absolutely get not only better fuel consumption, but noticeable running smoothness in both vehicles. I also have a colleague who did an actual trial over 5000 miles with his own vehicle and kept meticulous records. There was a definite and noticeable improvement in fuel economy. Was it worth the extra cost ? His view was ..... it depends on the differential fuel cost. This was not a theoretical trial. For me it is incidental that the above fuel is higher octane, but more the additives in the fuel, which I personally prefer to use. Roger
  10. Yes I have a dash cam. Could not get over number of idiots on the road, particularly those joining motorway or dual carriageway, and just coming straight out in front of you, so I fitted one a few years ago as a provider of evidence
  11. Does that apply to a full alloy road wheel and tyre even though it is a spare, as compared with an emergency spare ?
  12. I think that is severe. If your Indy has a relationship with the garage surely swapping the spare would have ensured a pass, then everybody happy. I know the indi’s I have used and do use have that kind of relationship. However the main dealers etc. would behave like above, and by the way I am not suggesting in any way diluting the thoroughness of the mot. Just my opinion !
  13. Johnn, if you can continue to find v power or Bp ultimate, I think running on that will hopefully negate the need for further action. Enjoy your trip , hopefully without further problems, Rgds, Roger
  14. Good luck Phil, glad you found what you wanted....enjoy, Rgds, Roger
  15. My daughters 2008 Rx400h was sold with 145000 on the clock, which if you did not know about it you would think was low mileage, very little sign of wear. They are amazing vehicles.......but it was regularly serviced as per the schedule. They had the battery health check done each year, no probs at all. If the one you want has been properly maintained, and I do think a higher annual mileage is better, then I think you should be ok. Good luck and enjoy France, Roger
  16. Why don’t you look at using the rear cigar lighter socket and weave a cable through the rear seats. Not technical or practical so only a thought. Good luck, Roger
  17. I think all the dealers offer something similar, had one from Honda for my wife’s car. Used to be tempted to go, but I agree you are often able to negotiate better at other times. However Sept is one of the quarters, so dealers are keen, so it might be worth seeing how far you can push things, and you can always use the pressure on them if the deal is poor. This happened with Honda, I got unimpressed with their offer, got assertive, so they said what deal do you want, I tried something ridiculous and they said ‘ok’. Got a real bargain at the time, well happy, so you never know. Good luck, Roger
  18. Hi Rayanns, that does surprise me I thought each seat had its own chiller unit. However if the air con is effective, presumably you are ventilating with chilled air anyway. My are definitely working as the surface temperature of the seat drops, so I am happy with them. Just a question, I am considering a new/nearly new RX450H Premier. The Lexus dealer tells me that model has the nearest smooth ride to an LS 430. I may keep my LS for a while also but we shall see. What are your views please, Roger S
  19. Malc where have you got that dodgy info from..Not supported by any reviews that I have seen. Roger
  20. Sorry missed the point, and agree with him. Having said that i do know that Skoda actually make a car for the Eastern European market specifically designed to cope with abuse, such as lack of servicing etc. I only know this because a friend of my son’s had one here and maintained it was “bullet proof” His job?......... an engineer with Asto Martin !!
